Thanks for sharing, I've added the price & retailer to your deals title as it helps people to see your deal better

Saw this at midnight, thought was hot but didnt really know enough about the TV to post it.

48 inch Sony tv for £440 seems a very decent price, heat added.

Looked good to me too but not up on TVs at the moment -Hot for me

Ben researching TV's for a few weeks now, this one looks a good deal IMHO, but personally waiting for a model a few levels up with 3D (head and heart set on the Samsug 48H6700, unless the sony W829 comes down a lot)

Edited by: "chipup" 26th Nov 2014

This is a crazy price. Still don't know if I should hold out til Friday in case a better deal comes along. After the W8.

don't hold out buy now excellent price for an excellent tv. I have one and love wish I could wait for it to come this price. it will go over 1000 heat

Whilst googling for more info on this TV I found that it's available from Amazon.de, delivered to the UK, for £426.74 (billed in Sterling by Amazon, so no additional fees), a handy £13.29 cheaper - and likely delivered from Amazon UK, such is the way Amazon works.

If I was a smug, negative, ingrate, as some HUKD participants demonstrably are I'd now pronounce chipup's deal cold, but I'm not, so I won't - thanks for sharing!

Edit:
It's now £413.09 delivered from Amazon.de - now an even handier £26.90 cheaper than Amazon UK:
amazon.de/gp/…E2/

Most tempting!

Looks to me like this tv is new model. guessing it's a new sony budget offering as it's 100hz motion rate (presume that means 50Hz)

Anyone found a review yet?

this is a DEAL OF THE DAY price, 22hrs to go...
price started @ £612, then £563 and now £440

Was looking at the 50" W805 but it didn't come down as much as I'd hoped for last week. Tempted by this.

On Amazon.de its 483 euros which is £383 right? So isnt that an even bigger deal if you buy it off Amazon.de?

Can't find a single credible review anywhere. If it's too good to be true...

If you're buying in the EU there are no import charges or VAT. You would get the wrong plug though.

I'm waiting for the same

Not sure if a German TV Tuner will work properly in the UK. Might get picture without sound or vice versa. The HDMI input will not be a problem.

Whats Amazons returns & warranty like?

What is the guarantee with this please? Just 1 year? X

I have been looking at tvs and I like the look of samsung 48H6500 it has freesat tuner aswell. Best price though is abit steep at £580 on coop electrical .
This sony is a nice deal but I want 3D.

it doesnt say in the listing. i checked with other retailer and all of them says 1 yr so i assume it would be 1 yr mfg warranty. however i bought it with 5yrs sq trade warranty by paying 83 quid extra..

So tempted, went to currys last nite and Sony by far produce the best picture quality

This is basically the W6 but with 50Hz instead of 100Hz

My ps4 will look awesome on 48" of led heaven !

Dosh!

Amazon is not great for specification and the link above states built-in Wi-Fi, I wonder if this is correct?

LCD == LED. The LED just refers to the backlight that illuminates the LCD. All LCD TVs have an LED backlight now. OLED is a completely different (and much better) TV technology that has no LCD panel or LED backlight - but that is a far more expensive option.

ah ok, thank you

reckon this is a good tv/deal to get? gaming would be its primary use.
