Just a note for people that might not know. I don't think 200Hz motion rate is an accurate representation of the actual rate you will get. I believe companies just make their own numbers up. This TV is probably more like 50Hz (although I haven't got confirmation of that).

5% code doesn't make it that price

Ignore me is £499/ description said £599.

You made it sound very confusing as 5% off £599 doesn't make £474.05.

After looking on the link the TV is for sale at £499 which makes sense now. Its not for sale at £599.

Sorry, you are absolutely right. Confusingly the checkout screen was showing it as £599. Sony trying to up-sell their products again
I've modified the description - thanks.

Very good point. I'm not sure but are the numbers reflective of the age? E.g. W600 series is a year newer than 500?
Also the Samsung UE48H5500 seems to be getting strong reviews. A very difficult choice! (First world problems 'eh?): richersounds.com/pro…500

EDIT. In addition to the above. Having spent a LONG time on this, I think this Sony is by far the better choice vs. the alternative Sony/Samsung. This Sony has better motion enhancement (Motionflow XR 200 Hz rather than 100 Hz on the W585).
Motion blur is a big thing for me and this model seems to be much better. Found some reviews which back this up too:

For £475? Where from? I'd definitely be interested in looking at that as an option too. It has slightly worse input lag but otherwise it certainly is a good TV. I thought the cheapest you could get it at the moment was +£75ish (without considering TCB). E.g: richersounds.com/pro…400

Edit. Serves me right for looking at expired deals Looks like it is available at the moment for £499 so not a bad option if you want 3D too.

topcashback.co.uk ... They give you cash for going through their website on to other websites (using a cookie to track).
E.g. Go to TCB, (assuming you have an account) enter the merchant name (Sony), then use their navigation button to go through to the Sony website. Simple as that.
