A good find tez_train. I too purchased from Amazon in July at this price in their Daily Deals; and agree, I am very pleased with the purchase.
Yeah seems amazon have also dropped their price so free delivery with them

£469 at John Lewis, price match & get 5 yr warranty or Richer sounds for 6yr warranty
Seems like it has very low input lag as well so ideal for gaming.
Anybody got any experience of going from a 50 inch to a 48, was looking in the shops and it just looks tiny compared to my current TV. Granted, a lot of that is to do with my bezel being about 3 inches wide on each side.

I went from 50" to 48" and I didn't like it. Due to the TV bezels being tiny it felt like I had a way smaller TV in my living room. So returned it back paid the difference and got a 55" TV
They have the 40" model of this TV. Wish Sony would have made more 40" models. Only two available are not so good.

Hate the stand. Why couldn't they just use the same silver stand as other Sony TVs?

Then there is this. Nice TV but price is too high.

For £279.99 this model puts Sony 40" TVs behind where they are no match for SAMSUNG panel.

I'm pretty sure that's how I'll feel about it. 55" prices don't seem to scale like all the other sizes. Can pick up 32 " for £300, 40" for £400, 50" for £500 then another £250 for the 55".

That's the thing with 55" TVs. They cost around £650+

Out of stock at John Lewis or I would have bitten their price matching arm off.
I wish they'd reduce the price of the 40" too, that's the one I've been looking to get! Can't fit the 48" otherwise would've gone for it - bargain price.
Really, really tempted - many thanks.

Have this on my shortlist along with the Samsung UE48H6400 as I want to get a 1080p set before everything goes to 4K as I also use my TV for console gaming (no need for 3D or slowdown etc from scaler).

I can't find any specific reviews for this model though, whereas the Samsung is highly reviewed. I need decent viewing angles too. Thoughts anyone?
Great deal. Reserved.thx op
Great find. Just purchased it from Amazon. Thanks OP!
I phoned Richer Sound but they wouldn't price match 1 year warranty deal. Ended up with Amazon purchase.
Waiting for black friday.. But good deal
These are very good TVs. Worth mentioning that you can't get most of the on-demand terrestrial channels due to Sony's licensing issues. Also don't buy if you want to wall mount. You can only use the Sony mount which is flush to the wall and sticks out a long way. You cannot use a VESA mount without an expensive adapter.
Good deal - heat added. I have the w805c - has anyone downloaded to youview update which was released today?

Thanks for the wall mount advice, that's put me off getting this
My TV just broke today the Aldi special 4K job. Just bought this now being delivered on Sat.

Cheers Hot

? Can you point me in the direction of adapter? The blurb says 200x200 which is a standard Vesa size

Edit:- actually a Google search found the bracket for £35 quid. Seems ridiculous! Agree with poster above that this is a deal breaker

Edit 2 :- further google searches suggest this model is not subject to requiring the Sony adapter and is compatible with normal Vespa mount. 2013 + 2014 models had this issue but not these 2015 models. Wall mount info

I agree with the comments above, I had a 50in Samsung plasma, but wanted to upgrade with this new 49in 4k Sony TV. Which I paid £999 for. As there was an inch in it I thought I wouldn't notice. I'm so disappointed as others mentioned it's tiny compared to my Samsung which my son loves in his room lol...
Sold out at amazon - Now saying the usual dispatched within 1-3 months.
Isn't the light in the centre at the bottom really annoying when you watch TV?
There's an option to turn it off

I went from a 46 to a 48 and felt the same way, the 48 felt smaller at first because of the lack of a bezel.
Great TV and worth £399 of anyone's money!
is the smart function on this android ?
can't see any mention thanks

Never gave this a thought, I'd flagged this Tv as a possible upgrade for my 6/7 yr old Panny 42" but having just looked at it there must be 5 > 6 inches of bezel from corner to corner putting it on a par with this 48", as far as size goes anyway. I know I'd still have a bigger viewing area but it makes me wonder if I should be considering 50+ oO
Can anyone confirm if it pvr? How do u find out if a tv has pvr does it need 2usb slots?
This is £399 at currys, with the O2 £20 off £300 discounts makes it £379!!!
