Sony KDL50W829B 50-inch 1080p 3D Smart TV £799 with Sony Soundar HT-CT60BT @ Amazon

Amazon are now selling the Sony 50W829 with Sony Soundbar (Sony HT-CT60BT 2.1 Channel Surround Soundbar and Subwoofer with Bluetooth/NFC Function) for £799.

This is useful for those who would like the soundbar rather than the Blu-Ray Player for the same price as the Tesco deal.

I believe it is a simple 1-yr warranty with Amazon as the only real downside.

Saw this TV in a store in Rome for €699, shame my luggage allowance won't cover it!
shame it didn't come with the warranty like tesco also tesco club card points, so thanks for share my dad's after this as I got the w955 but rather he buy from tesco, plus tesco pay tax haha no vote
Need John Lewis to price match
ordered on my Tesco interest free CC, got some club card points at the very least.

The bluray player would have been useless to me so the sound bar option appeals more.
Amazing tv. I got one. And looooove it!
I clicked on link , says nothing about sound bar coming with it
Was just about to buy one when the price dropped - yay!

It doesn't come with the 5-year guarantee that you get if you buy from Tesco at the same price, but you get a soundbar and for me that's much more useful than the bluray player you get with it from Tesco.

While it doesn't come with a 5-year guaranee, I thought that things like this were still covered for many years under the sale of goods act. E.g. if a TV (especially an expensive Sony like this) broke down after 3 years then you are still legally covered as it wasn't fit for purpose - you expect a TV to last much longer. That's not to say they'll make it easy for you to claim, compared to if you had a warranty, but legally you ought to be covered.

Sure do. Tesco apparently aren't stocking that sound bar at all anytime in the near future so it's not happening with them!

For £50 more i would take the richer sounds offer with 5 year warranty and the soud bar.!

Woops!!! Damn can I cancel.
Heat. I bought this very same package (TV and sound bar) from Currys for £899. TV is def worth it although still not as great as my previous 42" plasma Panasonic. Hooked up to Sky HD it looks fantastic though I'm still messing about with the settings to get it spot on. The soundbar is not great and sadly doesn't get loud enough for me.

FYI - Sonic Direct were doing this very same package a couple of weeks ago for £699 including a 5 Year Guarantee! Just checked and it's changed to £799 for just the TV plus 5 Year Guarantee (ie no sound bar). And you have to collect from the Bradford store.

Luckily I spotted this a few days ago before spending £25 on 4 screws/washers and a couple of spacers. The £13 set came next-day. I'm using a stand which relies on bars screwed to the back of the TV. They will be closer together than a normal VESA spacing.

If you need exact VESA pitch then Sony do sell an official adapter (I've seen £40) which is a box giving a 200x200 mount for the the kind of tilt/swivel stand you might connect to the back of a PC monitor.

im really torn between this tv or a samsung … im really torn between this tv or a samsung h6400http://www.richersounds.com/product/tv---all/samsung/ue50h6400/sams-ue50h6400

Go and have a look at them in a shop, I thought the Sony blew all of the similar Samsung models out of the water for picture quality, you just lose out on some online services. Take your pick!
Got myself this tv from RS 2 weeks ago. Could anybody tell me which mouting method would best in terms of how close my tv is to the wall. I want it sticking out as little as possible. I don't want a swivel bracket either, just a regular flat to wall bracket. cheers
Looked at this deal (same TV with free Sony soundbar or Blu-Ray player) for my mum and dad in Curry's a few days ago for £100 more.

Didn't buy it in the end (went for an LG), but did look at the 'free' soundbar - ugly dust magnet was the first thing that sprung to mind. It looked very low rent. When I asked to hear it, the assistant told me not to bother because it sounded crap and he offered me £100 off any other Sony soundbar instead).

Tesco were recently selling a low profile wall mount in store for a very reasonable price but I forget the name of the product - might be worth a look if you're near a store. Or maybe someone else on here has seen one and can remember what they are called.
This tv looks quite thick so will stick out from the wall

Just get the fixing kit, I've got mine up on the wall with a VESA mount.

Harsh but mostly true. I''ve got this Sony package. The soundbar is so ugly they have to give it away and the sound quality is only slightly better than the TV's. Just the exceptional Sony KDL50W829B on it's own for a lower price is the best bet as the sound quality is not too shabby tbh.
4k or no dice
Not that I am encouraging fraudulent behaviour. You could buy from shop. Take product code send to sony get ps4 return tv .

Try it, over a 6 week wait for it to make sure tvs are not refunded so all serials and id's are logged. So if it's refunded the order will be canceled.

What you talking about, soundbar is miles better!! Yes it's cheap and entry level but it top trumps the tv speakers.

Thanks for the heads up on this and the tesco deal...just had this delivered today from JL for £899 but they've agreed to refund £100 to match tesco. Wouldn't have known if I didn't see this deal, so cheers!
Bought one on Saturday at PCWorld Currys for £899 but the Soundbar is out of stock for 5 weeks. Used my O2 Priority to get £50 off.

Do you think they will price match this Amazon Deal or the Tesco Deal that comes with a free Blu-Ray Player. Going to store tonight ot tomorrow to check.
Also the TV comes with a Basic Wall Mounting Kit. The Stand turns into the Wall Mount and there are bracket provided.
Review in current WhatHiFi Mag...if you listen to what them dorks say :-)
I bought the 42" last week and really wish I'd gotten the 50, 42 is too small :-/

I can't exactly take it back, and say it's too small can I
