Looks like it doesn't work with … Looks like it doesn't work with Vista:http://support.sony-europe.com/hotnews/vista.asp?l=en&f=lfpOR does it with some versions of the software

The words:

LocationFree Player (LFA-PC2 software) is NOT compatible with Windows Vista™

suggest it doesn't!

Due to high demand the following item(s) are currently unavailable.

I can confirm they will toast bread, muffins and crumpets.

Can't have been many then.

Own up, who bought more than 2???

no stock now

Why expired there's stock in both my local Curry's ?????????????

Just tried to place order, says out of stock due to high demand, so bad I missed it, anyways heat added.

Hi Stradders,
where is that?

stock still showing in mansfield....

just reserved one item is still in stock, why expired

Still available near me in Craigavon.

still some near me (only ordered ONE)

Why's this expired? They had reserve and collect stock at 5 stores in London a minute ago.

Re the Vista compatibility, would it run in a VMware XP image?

Hi Stradders, where is that?

There was stock in St Helens mate, i closed down Firefox and cleared cookies expecting to go through Quidco, gone to order it and they're both out of stock now!

Damn it!

Huge reduction but I'm struggling to see the benefit of getting one of these if you can only stream wirelessly within your home. If you could also do this over the internet like you can something like the Slingbox then it would make more sense to me.

Am I missing something more fundamental?

Just reserved one from local store :-)

Also found link to vista compatible software

esupport.sony.com/US/…=29

EDIT: Looks like the Vista software is only for USA version of LFPK1 :-(

If it helps, I believe these also stream to the PSP which would make em quite a bit more useful.

On wikipedia it says "On November 29, 2007 Sony modified its LocationFree Player policy to provide free access to the latest LocationFree Player LFA-PC30 software for Windows XP/Vista".

So does it work on vista or is that a lie?

don't really understand what it does but ordered one anyway.

at last manged to reserve one.
an hours journey and visitng a new city, not bad

this works anywhere, with laptop or PSP just need to have internet access. I have been looking for one for quite some time, hope to start using one tomorrow.

You can it watch over the net

Sorry to burst peoples bubbles, i have one of these, generally great. The version 3 software will not install on a UK machine, with the UK freeplayer box.

I am able to watch TV or recorded programs from my V+ box on my PC, PSP or even at work on my PC.

miss that one...=(

version 3 software ??, whats that and is it really important?

I ordered one, but didn't remember the confirmation code or email it!

Can they still find my reservation by name alone? (I'm new, I know naffink!)

Heat added, btw.
