Was looking for the first generation and came across this. From what i can see it is the cheapest available at the moment.

**FREE SHIPPING - PRIME**
Remember guys, if you havent signed up for amazon prime previously, you can sign up for the trial and get free next day delivery.

Note that this is being mis-sold by many sellers .

It is the Liveview not the 'Sony Smartwatch'.
Liveview has notoriety and why it eventually sold at £12.50.

Smart watches are terrible so glad they haven't taken off (..yet)

Waste of money time and resources.

I have personally never tried one, thats why i was having a look around to buy my first. This does however seem to be the cheapest price for this one at the moment online?

Any good?

That tells me:
(a) you work in a museum
(b) you work in TV comedy props dept.
(c) You forgot your tablets

With smart watches, "looking for the cheapest" doesn't cut it - because the cheapest is no good. You NEED SmartWatch2.

Seems a good deal for first generation, not sure if any left though (ebay blocked at work!!).

Shame these don't work with an iphone!!

No strap!!!! Only a 'convenient' clip......

This is the old model, not the smart watch 2 which is a significant improvement!

The only smart watch that would appeal to me now would be a second generation pebble, that was less bulky. It doesn't even need to have any more features... it just needs to be smaller.

Wind up ?

Agreed. I have a Pebble, and it's so handy having it. If it was nicer looking, and perhaps with a HiDPI LCD screen, it'd be perfect!

As reviews are from last year I suspect this is the old model. Or have I misread?

I've got a pebble and can highly recommend, quite like the style and not as big as I feared it would be

Love my Pebble, heard good things about the Sony Live View 2.

In a meeting and get a text? Glance at your watch.

Can't have your phone out at work? Doesn't matter.

This is the 2012 model, not the latest one which came out a few months ago

Sony Smartwatch 2 is the name of the latest one and is a brilliant device compared with the two models from Sony which came before it

Yep I've also got a Pebble and very happy with it. This seems to be better value for money though, but not much good for an iOS user!

Galaxy Gear is ace

COLD, old version

Bloody hell, I feel old and past it.
Up until I saw this thread, a pebble was something you skimmed across a lake and a smart watch was a Breitling.

A pebble is something you throw at trolls! Smart watches are just terrible, terrible idea and so far badly executed.

If you enjoy technology, I highly recommend the Smartwatch 2 (which is the replacement for the watch in this OP).

I have one and it's fantastic.

- When emails come in I can read them and delete directly from the watch if appropriate.
- When text messages come in while I have my hands full I can check if it's urgent.
- Hands too dirty to reach in my pocket for my phone? No problem.
- Need to go to the baby at night? With the torch function on this, no problem.
- Want to check the forecast before going out? No need to reach for and unlock the phone, just check the watch.
- Walking or cycling somewhere and need navigation? No need to juggle the phone, just keep glancing at the route overlayed on a moving map on your wrist.
- Can't remember where you left your phone? Get the watch to make it ring.
- Want to control your music while your phone is on charge? No need to move from what you're doing, control it with the watch.
- Left the phone in your bag at the cinema and want to check it's on silent? Check with your watch.
- Using public transport and want constant access to a note with times, platforms and changes? Stick it on your watch.
- Want to control your HTPC without reaching for the mouse? Use your watch.

It is certainly unnecessary, but as a technology fan I'm loving it.

Reading your comments, that tells me

(a) you work in a ticket stand
(b) you like fish n chips
(c) all the above is a load of B.S. like the B.S. you put in brackets

With smart watches, the latest tech does not cut it, because it still is no good, I own a SmartWatch2 and I am sick of having to put it on charge, you don't need a SmartWatch2, you need to wait for SmartWatch4 or Apple's battery eating equivalent

Anyway keeping on the SmartWatch topic, here is my alternatives which are as equally as good (obsolete) as the whole smartwatch concept:

Bit harsh; if you read my comments in context, I was arguing against SW1 - ie compared to THAT you need THIS, reponding specifically to the OP's comment - I think on the bigger picture, you certainly don't need the Apple version ... and frankly, there's none on the horizon that I'd spend my money on.

And I stick by my advice too:

I was just starting to spark a good old debate feel like a Troll now

+1 for the Sony SmartWatch 2 (SW2). I would spend the extra and get that instead. I've had mine (SW2) for a few weeks now and loving it.

does anyone know if a pebble do all of the above (or another smart watch compatible with an iphone??)?

Had one of these, cost me £18 off an auction site and was not worth even £18. I also tried the Smart watch 2 and while it's better it's still poor compared to the Pebble. Trust me on this, the Pebble is the only Smart watch that's any good.

Trust you? We don't know you.

You'll need to provide an explanation for your viewpoint please.

Prime is not a next day delivery any more, its a 1-3 day service confirmed by amazon when i complained at very little arriving next day.

I suppose it vary's based on location maybe, not sure? I live in London and have had great service every time I've used the service in the past 2-3 years, they've literally never missed a next day 'deadline'.
