The camel says it's the cheapest they've been.

Really great cans. I love mine 12 months in....best NC I've had.

Black also available. I think there's a cheaper warehouse deal if you want used.

Just a heads up - I think these are basically reduced to clear now the WH-1000Xm2 are out.

I grabbed the M2 because apparently they've strengthened the joint where the headphone connects to the band (among other improvements!) - though Sony have a free repair program for anyone affected by that, so these are still a good deal!

I'm 12 months in with no joint problems (save for not having one in my hand right now..). Could you point me to the link out of interest, please?

The Sony 1000XM2 is out in Jan on Amazon for about £330. Read all the 1 star reviews on Amazon for these headphones... its very alarming having such a bad defect on the premium headphones like the 1000X.

So, a lot of people in the Amazon reviews talk about the fault, and on the John Lewis page for the mark 2 version, someone from sony replied to a comment about the failures saying there is a free repair program in operation for it, but the fault doesn't affect the m2s.

Just note that despite admitting the manufacturing/design fault, Sony still INSIST on proof of purchase for a repair under warranty. If you received yours as a gift, have no proof of purchase and no means of getting one, then Sony aren't interested. I'd also recommend avoiding these and going for the M2 version, or even the Bose QC35.

Not sure why Amazon are saying the mark 2 come out 1st Jan, because all other retailers have them now. Mine arrived from John Lewis last week, and they're incredible. Better than the Bose QC35 they're replacing!

They haven't changed the sound performance on the mark 2, so these are still worth it.

Yup, they've been available in Dixons for £299 for over a month now as well.
I presume Sony have given exclusives to these retailers before releasing onto Amazon in January.

I'm thinking of getting the M2 version but that's a really tempting price for premium NC headphones.

Part of the plastics on mine broke after a week. Got them in the states so had no come back. Think they may be covering some of the build issues under warranty. Fantastic headphones otherwise.

The one feature that is a must have is the ability to mute the mic during calls. Do any owners of these out there know if that is possible on the cans themselves rather than the device that is making the call? I've looked at manuals for them, but can't find anything...

I'd be looking to use with my mobile as well as Skype calls on a computer.

I don't believe you can do that, no.

Funny that... I just read a review of the M2s cracking in the same spot.
