Used to own these for about 3 months years ago in black, very good for flights and loud journeys but general use wasnt very good as it takes away loudness and also i only owned them for 3 months because they broke in 3 months. This was when they cost £100 odd in the uk, least I brought it for $100 but it was at a bad exchange rate! Least you'll have warranty.

really good headphones, if in doubt...go for it!! (ignore the sweaty comment on the amazon review, it's probably just a generally sweaty person!)

I decided to have a scout olnline as I am interested in getting some noise reduction earphones myself.

I found a pair of Philips SHN2500 Noise Cancelling Earphones for £17.79 Delivered from CheapestElectrical.co.uk

How would these compare with the Sony's?

 why are Amazon so cheap compared to the rest because they cut their cost by been on the internet only which means less staff to pay no shops to pay for like (argos who have hundreds) therefore they can pass their great savngs on to us

Anyone know where the microphone bit is for these - in the box or in the earpiece? i.e. do they cancel noise in general or just that heard by the box?

the microphones are located in the earpieces. can't use these outside if it's windy as you hear the sound of the wind. but in trains and planes these are brilliant.

Anyknow have these and used them at all?

I am contenplating buying a pair as i work in an office full of noisey people and tempted to buy some if it gets rid of the chatter.

Just curious how good they are?
