Could just get that new chromecast dongle that was announced today, coming to UK soon around £30ish.

Not really the same thing as although good for the price it's very limited.

As it can only fire off in app content, it does not mirror your device and the app in question has to support it (going on what i have read)

As far as I know,
no support for MKV, typical sony, and no HD audio or DTS.

I don't have one myself. but it's suppose to be smooth and i think there has just been a big update (or going to be) plex client on it.

So basically its better to pay a little more for a more inclusive platform? Could you recommend something

"We’re releasing it right now for our awesome PlexPass members,"

Im not so is many others so we are stuck on the buggy version. It always wants to transcode and never wants to play direct. Also comes up with errors and crashing. I use everyday.

Luckily I already subscribe to PlexPass. Unfortunate if you don't though.

Just checked got an update today for Plex about time hopefully this works better. Will get PlexPass after i purchase flexraid and other media/software, things getting expensive to hoard media!
