and before anyone asks why a media player in this day and age...

I like to carry around a load of FLAC files with me without filling up the limited space on my iPhone.
I have mine since a deal posted here around last December.

No complaints:

Pro tip, change the region using SonyNWDestTool from rockbox, to enable higher volume and create playlists on the device
I have this - good bit of kit - slapped a 256gb card in it and use it in the gym (I found I was getting distracted by my phone and using spotify) and when running outside.

Get Tidal, then. £2.64 a month for MQA with the Turkish trick😁.
These look good. I got an Xperia 1 recently and love it. But It's a big to lug around with me. What's best way of getting Music onto it?

looks like it is back now...
Yep, it's the end of the iPod and all the other low-quality mp3 players

(iTunes passed away already)

I'm tempted if only to test the claimed 30hrs playback of flac 24/192:

  • DSD (2.8224MHz / 1bit) / Noise Cancel OFF: Approx. 25 hrs
  • DSD (2.8224MHz / 1bit) / Noise Cancel ON: Approx. 22 hrs
  • FLAC (192kHz / 24bit) / Noise Cancel OFF: Approx. 30 hrs
  • FLAC (192kHz / 24bit) / Noise Cancel ON: Approx. 27 hrs
  • FLAC (96kHz / 24bit) / Noise Cancel OFF: Approx. 39 hrs
  • FLAC (96kHz / 24bit) / Noise Cancel ON: Approx. 32 hrs
  • MP3 (128kbps) / Noise Cancel OFF: Approx. 45 hrs
  • MP3 (128kbps) / Noise Cancel ON: Approx. 37 hrs

Snagged a blue one, thanks OP. Should be good for the gym
Is the dac in this any good?
There is no longer stock available for one or more of your products. NWA45B.CEW.A - quantity requested is no longer available.
Honestly get a Android and a Large SD card, I've about a thousand flacs and I've only used 30GB
Great player had this for year, put 128 sd sd card, loaded with flac and hi res audio files, love it take my whole music collection in my pocket, and can stream in LDAC to any NFC or Bluetooth speaker
Ive got the newer nw-a50 which isnt out here but almost the same (and no silly EU volume limiter). Stuck a 256gb card in and have all my music on it. Works like a dream. Drag and drop files on PC (dont use Sony software) and its simple as. Battery lasts AGES. Only downside is initialising time if its been off for over 12 hours (instant if under) bit only takes 2 minutes and then its on standby for another 12 hours (remember to select max 12 hours option). Love it.
I genuinely thought it was an error when my 'walkman' keyword notified me. First alert I've had since I set it up in 1982
How would this compare with the LG v20/30? Thanks...
OOS...

I can't work out how to get the tape into this.
Probably a silly question but does this stomp the cr&p out of my Ipod mini 5th gen?
Want a good music player while out..but only have ipad..so no way to transfer music 😔
does it have a radio?
Shame, was just about to pull the trigger on this but appears to be out of stock when you get to the checkout

Good deal but interested in the NW-A55 with the bluetooth dac.
Good player, great battery life, card capacity(using a 256gb) and easy to use/transfer to,using it now....one major problem is the volume, with wired headphones it's almost useless (and yes I have changed the Firmware region with the tool mentioned above) but it's still not great especially with older recordings with lower recording levels ...using it with powered bluetooth headphones is alot better volume wise but alot of the audio features cannot be used with bluetooth....good player but the volume thing is a major flaw for me...it's also very hit or miss if it displays album art....apart from card capacity I have a 5 year old Sony Android phone which sounds almost as good if not better, definitely far better in the volume dept.

Yeah thats what ive got. No farting around with volume limiter either - it goes way loud enough even on older quieter mp3s. Not released in UK but you can get it easily enough. English language option when you switch on first time. It will fit in a nw-a45 case too so get a leather flip top one - works great.

I’m going to try that. Do I really need Apple Music, Spotify and Tidal?

Ok but a bit bulky, especially if you're used to a nano. Sound and storage is decent but the volume limiter is annoying.

Are you not best getting a better phone ? New android ones come with 128gb as standard with SD support too. Understand if you need an iPhone for it's great features though
