As title says really. Over the last few days i've been on the verge of getting the 8Gb version for £120, but this deal has really rocked my boat a bit and wondering whether i'd get use out of the extra 8Gb for an extra £50.

For one week only though so I better make my mind up quick!

Same price @ Play (quidco too) - ]http//ww…tml

Ever owned a minidisc with USB upload/other Sony MP3 player? The SonicStage software is notoriously hideous to work with and not without good reason - I've owned several High Capacity Minidisc Players and if not for that software, their products would be so much more popular.
So I just thought I'd give you a word of warning, that the process of transferring music to your device is near unbearable; more specifically, the program crashes, or refuses to load altogether, takes ridiculous amounts of time to transfer files to your device, eats all your memory and brings the whole system grinding to a halt, will need re-installing regularly, will corrupt it's "library database" requiring you to copy your entire collection to the player from scratch... have a quick look on Google about SonicStage if you don't quite believe it could be this bad :whistling:

I'd rather buy an ipod touch or classic at this price tbh.

SonicStage is no longer used. Simple drag n drop now and has top marks in T3 magazine. The sound is apparently a lot better than iPod too. I've got the nano (2nd gen) and still really like it, but hate iTunes - and the way it names tracks is a ball-ache for me.

Didn't realise it was same price at Play tho - cheers for that.

For sound quality this apparently beats it, and it's smaller than the touch and classic.

I decided to go with the 8Gb model from Amazon for £109.99. Got it yesterday and I have to say i'm astounded at how amazing it sounds - blows the iPod away.

The only problem I do have with it is that there's no sleep timer. I'll have to come up with an alternative (maybe just use my nano for bed instead).
