I VOTED HOT MAINLY BECAUSE THIS IS GOING TO GET COLD

heated added

What's new about it?

Bluetooth & IR now, so it can control lots of other devices.

looks good. heat

AT LAST!, Have HEAT from me! I've been waiting for this to go sub £15 for months, couldn't justify it for more as I have the V1. Heard about this model 18+ months ago and have been looking for it since.

HOT

Does it work with non Sony tvs?

Fantastic! Been needing the new emote as the old one is limited. HOT!

Shame it isn't a learn-able remote ,so not for me.
but heres the remote codes and TV's,Amps supported.
slickdeals.net/for…=30

hope it helps

Does the "Play TV" overlay fit this remote or don't you need one.

Nice to see they've added IR...If only they'd done the same on the PS3 itself :-(

To be honest though most good brand HDTV remote's will control the PS3 now via HDMI-CEC

Does the new remote still switch the ps3 on when you accidently look at a button?

Is there a list of which Sony Amps it works with anywhere? Mine is combined with a DVD player, is it likely to work or is it stand alone amps only?

Good price - had my V1 since I got my PS3 and is an invaluable accessory

Cold... 15£ is too much for this.

Bas***d.................................I'm 3 months into the original.......Wanted one of these but word was Sony were never going to release it over here.......£50 give or take delivered 3 months ago

I've never seen the point of these. They seem to be designed mainly for useless other halfs that can't figure out how to use the DualShock to navigate movies. I've been using the DualShock for navigating menus since the PS2 days and could never get used to a remote now. Just extra clutter that you don't need IMO.

Excellent, taken a long time to get over here (bought mine from USA earlier this year).

Still powers on the PS3 but you can press AMP or TV at the top and leave it controlling that instead to prevent it.

Only controls Sony Amplifiers but does control other TV brands. Any other questions I'll try and answer them.

It's much better/nicer in the hand than the original, not as pointlessly chunky and much better laid out.

They've also updated the coloured buttons in comparison to my USA one, mine has Yellow Blue Red Green.

The eject button doesn't work on the super slim because you have to do it manually.

ok on a serious note i have a sony 3d surround sound system but remote broke, will this work?

and my sister now has something to get me for xmas, albeit a few days late! THANK YOU!!!
I've got Sony TV, AMP and PS3 so this is amazing. I only need the amp control to switch between ProLogic/5.1 so i'm hoping this remote negates having it lying around.

I have had a PS3 and the V1 remote for over 4 years now and think I have changed the batteries once, happy enough with them stats for a remote.

Unfortunately yes

Battery life still shocking? A combination of the ps3 remote and my wifes "toys" had us going through 24 packs of duracells like no ones business.

'Toys' oO, yeah the battery life sucks, I think its even worse than the old remote! I have to replace the batteries around every month!

I used to use my old remote all the time, don't think I've changed the batteries once since I got it. Only really stopped using it half a year ago, so there's at least a couple years it's lasted on the original batteries.

Never had an issue with batteries with my remote either

will this control a sony 3d bluray surround sound system?

Should do, from memory there's about 7 different Sony amp codes you can choose from. My amp is about 3 years old but Sony TVs used to be more or less interoperable with the same IR remote so I'd be surprised if it's not the same situation with an amp.

I have had mine for about 5 years and changed the batteries just twice. Pretty impressed with battery life in this remote, use every day.

Usually dispatched within 3 - 5 weeks. oO

A lot of other TVs can do it, my 2008 Sharp could but not the 2011 LG that replaced it. There's a couple of Simplink things that occasionally pop up but that's it. Unless it's changed you also tend to find the lack of a PS button annoying.

The TVs controlling PS3s thing is only for later models, mainly slim and super slims.
