I doubt it, probably why it's on sale because it is old stock.

I have the new CUH-1200 model, the only one I've seen in the UK so far is the MGSV one and it is the one you want. It's fan is almost silent and the blu-ray drive doesn't vibrate like a mofo. I've also noticed it doesn't get as hot, mine stays very cool unless I've been playing for a couple of hours, to which point my old model one would be boiling and like a jet engine.

+ I don't keep accidentally hitting the capacitive buttons and turning it off or ejecting the disc, that used to be so annoying and It's something that bugs me about my Xbox 360 slim. You do notice it's much lighter as well, I first picked it up and was disappointed as it felt so cheap.

There are lots of the new models available... not just the MGS one... Shopto have been selling them for nigh on a month as have other retailers. Simply games have been out of stock of PS4's for a while so this must be a new batch... may be worth calling and asking the question..

The MGSV one isn't the only 1200 model in the UK.

Yep, same here. I've waited seven years for MGSV and so want to play it (will be my last MGS, no Kojima = no want), but I really wanna get a decent deal in the form of a bundle. I figure, if I can wait seven years for a game I can wait and extra month or two.

New model is the 1TB one,but you can buy a 1TB hard drive and it'll only take about 30 minutes too sort it with the firmware...

No it isnt... the new model is the 500GB one (all matt with no shiny bit)... I believe the 1TB isnt a new model (as in a new spec with the new mechanical button; just a bigger hard drive) I do wish people wouldnt give advice about things they dont know about!

Technically, the RRP of this particular console is £349.99 so, you are saving a cool one hundred pounds on this deal, which I coincidently voted for 'hot'!

For those of you who are still 'on the fence', you can quite happily wait until October or November time, seeing as there'll be games like Destiny: The Taken King, Star Wars: Battlefront and the Uncharted Collection inside their respective bundles at similar prices to this one, hopefully!

I've gone for one off Rakuten with shopto using the 10% voucher. £260.99 plus around £15 points and hopefully 5% quidco and it's the new model you watch, they'll be deal for half the price tmw now I've given in and ordered one lol

It's a good deal but to be honest you can often get them for £280 with a game so considering you're going to need a game anyway... it's not amazing.

I'm on the waiting game too, my rule of thumb for the past three Sony consoles has been the console+extra official controller+2 games for max £300. Gutted I missed out on some of the Amazon Germany deals a few months back. Hopefully this price is a sign of things to come. Anyone who pre-orders for Xmas is a mug! It will be cheaper once Fifa has been out for a couple of months. If you really can't wait that long, then buy the mgsv+console deal at either sainsbury or tesco and then sell the game on eBay and buy the one you want.

It's painful reading everyday how many people get this wrong...let's just set this out for everyone...

Old Model = CUH-1116 in Europe ... based on pictures on SimplyGames and more obviously the price..this will be this model.

New Model = CUH-1216 in Europe...quieter, more efficient and lighter model. Just for ease here's the link to it on Amazon as they don't list in under their usual PS4 options for some reason (amazon.co.uk/Son…c_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1441955683&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=ps4+c+chasis) and also comes in the MGS5 version.

1tb Model = This is still the old CUH-1116 model specifications and just has a bigger hard drive.

The only people who can confirm this is Simply Games !!!

Having said that, it will almost certainly be the new version (despite the picture) as they were out of stock for a while, their latest stock should be the latest model.

Most retailers are now selling the new 1200 series (Shopto, Argos, Tesco definitely are) however most retailers seem pretty clueless about the existence of this new model.

For the record, I picked up the new version from Argos about 3 weeks ago.

That's genuinely the line of thinking I eventually took. Christmas is 4 months away and I saw a PS4 without a box on amazon marketplace for £199. I went for it. I'm playing MGS5 now!

I called them and they confirmed that it was a Matt finish - I thought this was the new version?
