Unless a firmware update added support recently, this does not work on the PS4 / PSVR.

Edit: seems my information may be outdated...

I was about to ask what games this works with, but I think you answered that.

I bought it about a year ago and nothing worked on the PS4 or PSVR. Unless you have recent experience to the contrary, I expect that it is still the case.

So you have one working on the PS4, with the throttle, paddles, etc?

It’s basically doing the same as the Wii Wheel

OK - I'll rummage in the loft - cheers

I think I tried Drive Club, GT Sport and maybe Wipeout a year ago and none of the games would accept the Move combo as an input device.

No, it’s not the same. The Wii wheel is just a plastic shell to put your Wiimote in, it has no controls of its own. But this Playstation one actually has functional buttons on it.
For £2.50 it's worth a punt. Hopefully works with my psvr

What generation Move controllers do you have, 1st gen PS3 era or 2nd gen PS4 era?
MikeStrutter05/11/2019 20:20

Depends on the game

I’m not sure what you mean by that. The Wii wheel has no controls or functions of its own, its just a round piece of plastic that is a holder for the Wiimote. This one has working buttons on it that would control your brake, accelerator, etc in the game. They aren’t the same thing.

Surely this would be the PlayStation equivalent of the Wii wheel.

That’s the PS3 era 1st gen ones. I’m guessing that this wheel connects to the Move controller via the mini-USB for the added functionality of the buttons. The 2nd gen PS4 era Move controllers use a smaller micro-USB connector so that could explain why it works with your ones but not for others with the newer set.

Been using my PS3 move controllers with all my PSVR games. Didn’t even know they made new ones with different charging ports.

Just to clarify, my Move controllers are also PS3 era - it all fits together but the games I tested did not detect the Move combo as a supported control device.
If @MikeStrutter is correct, this stance may have changed since my testing.

The annoying thing is that whilst you can use the PS3 Move controllers on the PS4 you can’t use the PS4 ones on the PS3. My son uses my old PS3 so I thought I’d get him the J.K Rowling wizards Wonderbook set, but when we went to play it we found that the new Move controllers are not backwards compatible with the PS3. I wish they’d port some of the old PS3 Move games like that one to the PS4.
Thought it was a bottle opener....

That's really strange, especially as a little known fact is that regular PS4 controllers will actually work on the PS3 via USB.

I've not heard that before. I'll have to give it a try and let you know if it works or not.

Should do, I've done it in the past but then again, the controllers have had a revision since so who knows. It was quietly mentioned when people were asking if PS3 controllers would be compatible with the PS4 back before the console's launch. The fact that all PS3s can play PS1 games sometime surprises people as well, so I'll chuck that little fact in while I'm here.

Sorry, I think I misread your earlier comment. The Dual Shock 4 definitely works with the PS3 over USB but I don’t think that applies to the Move controllers, I thought you were saying that you could connect the PS4 era Move controllers to the PS3 by USB to use them on it. AFAIK the gen 2 Move isn’t compatible with the PS3 unfortunately. I think the reason is that whilst the PS4 camera can detect any generation Move controller, the PS3 camera (which is the only one you can connect to the PS3 as the PS4 one uses a different type of connection that only the PS4 console has a port for) can only detect the gen 1 controllers.

I have had one of these for years. I thought this only worked with PS3 games. Loved playing Need for Speed Most Wanted on it, when the police started chasing you, the PS3 move controller would flash blue and red. Well designed, limited use though.
The PlayStation Move Racing Wheel will support upcoming racing games like Little Big Planet Karting, in addition to PS3 racing favorites like Gran Turismo 5, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, BurnOut Paradise, MotorStorm Apocalypse and more.

From the cex website, seems this is for the PS3

Is ps3 backwards compatible?
Out of stock online, none near me. Good luck.
MotoGP 19 work with this?

Why bother since it's not a VR title?

Oh i see sorry, didn’t read the VR i just the handle bars and got excited

This pictured one is the exact one the morons have sent me.

I've not bothered saying though because Cex have some of the absolute worst support of any large sellers. Any time I had an issue in the past they done their absolute best to wriggle out of it and then even when sending the item back to them they tried to keep a hold of my money the best they could.
