This is PlayStation TV, the small, sleek, and simple to use micro-console that lets you stream your PS4 games to another HD TV.

Cramming loads of features and amazing tech into one very stylish box, PS TV gives you a level of freedom no other console offers.

You can also play compatible PS Vita, PSP, and PS one games on your TV and buy, rent, or stream your favourite movies and TV shows from the PlayStation Store 24/7.

Seems to be the cheapest at the moment as far as I'm aware now the Tesco Direct code has expired.

great deal missed the recent Tesco deal so will be great to grab this...thanks OP and heat added

Great find Barmy! Heat added! Have a good one!

What are Grainger like for delivery speed?

How is this for just playing vita games? Is the compatibility/resolution/experience any good?
Any advice appreciated, cheers.

Despatch tends to be slow everytime I've ordered from them.

Thanks, will probably hold off. I 'want' one mainly to play Persona 4 as I struggle to get into it on a tiny screen, but the huge list of incompatible games (for no reason, especially region specific ones) is ridiculous. Will wait til this thing is cheaper I think, it's just been handled so poorly by Sony it's crazy.

Does it really matter how slow it is...as long as its under a week it should be fine...after all if you wanted one that badly surely you'd walk into Game to buy one off the shelf full RRP

I'm buying more for remote play ability.....will see how I get on....hoping its pretty good across a wired network....at least thats what people seem to be saying

For

PS4 gaming beyond the living room
Great design
Small form factor
massive potential

Against

No streaming apps
Vita user interface needs big-screen improvement
Content is lacking

In short not worth it!!

I don't understand your comment....I want to use this to remote play on another TV in my house...I heard it was poor on WiFi but have had first hand indications that it works very well for this over direct LAN connection or powerplugs....

I am not a tech-illiterate, and I love my PS3 but I have had it with Sony and their strange ways of naming stuff.

I mean if you know the "Play TV" in PS3, it's a dvb-t tuner box + some software that will allow you to tune terrestrial channels, effectively turns your PS3 into a super awesome DVR - complete with recording a series and what not. Combined with nice blu ray remote, it truly expands PS3 as the do-it-all, one-box-solution for everything!

And then there is this PS4's "Playstation TV" which I am not sure what it does. You can stream your PS4 game to another TV? And play from the other TV? Can two players play two different games in two different tellys with PS4 + Playstation? Or does it stream online TV channels like a Roku? And what happened to the "Play TV" tuner functionality that was on PS3? Gaargh..

I am NOT upgrading to PS4 until Sony brings back at least some of the PS3 capabilities over.

/end of rant.

I'd be interested in one of these but its still at least £20 too dear for me.

Just buy yourself another figure 8 mains lead and another HDMI lead and just cary your PS4 to the other room,

it's only 720p right? Even when streaming PS4?

correct

from the distance ill be sitting 720p is just fine.....

Judging by the stock of them at £75 at CEX, 90 online and a boat load in the plethora of stores around the country I am expecting the price of these to drop like the Kinect and PS Move to practically giveaway prices on the second hand market.

For this many to be sold second hand so soon you just know something is not quite right with it.

CEX are normally a pretty good sign of the second hand market...unfortunately I don't think we'll see these go much lower for a bit yet

Annoying though as in the US they get a controller as well for even cheaper....

I have this and remote play over wifi and it's fine... But I live in a bungalow with the bedroom beside the living room.
Seriously though any further than a room away its bit naff so hard wire is way to go.
On the PS TVS itself I find it very good for remote play and saves me disrupting a multitude of hidden cables behind my TV in the sitting room to move my PS4
Got mine when Tesco were doubling up vouchers at Xmas.. Cost me a physical £1.. And yes it was worth it before any clever pleb asks me

would rather pay £10 extra @ amazon then it will be going back if no good.

I got this as part of a bundle and was going to shove it on ebay. I decided to give it a whirl as I have a lan cable running to a switch in another room. In there I have a 24" tv that can only output at 720p. It has been a great bit of kit in my opinion. Got a PS4 at Christmas and my son wants to rack up hours on Lego games and the missus wants to watch TV in the living room. So off he goes with a controller and uses the playstation tv in the other room. It works superbly - no lag or anything. So from my point of view it is great. Even downloaded some PS1 and PS2 games onto it. And they don't look too bad despite being a much lower quality than the PS4 games - which in turn look superb through this.

Not sure what I'll use it for and it probably wont do what it is supposed to. Then I will have to replace every gadget in my house to get it to work and by then it will have probably gathered an inch of dust......

I'm out but good price in relation to RRP.

I'm guessing you don't really know how to set it up then, as it has nothing to do with your internet speed.

Yes, if you have poor wifi this will suck. You need either a strong wifi connection (both with your PS4 AND this) or ethernet.

I have one (both this and PS4 are wired in) and it's great. I paid £50 with the amex Argos deal. It lets me play my PS4 downstairs - the only game I've had issues with remote play on is Driveclub - but given the history of that game, I'd blame drive club rather than the box!

fantastic price for a fantastic device. playing persona 4 on the big screen and killzone mercenary was meant for the PSTV

I had one and sold it.

It's ok for single player game stream from ps4 but useless for multi player like cod or bf4.

HOT great bit of kit. I use this downstairs on small 22" TV & runs great streaming from PS4 since the new FW update last week.

BTW everyone saying "it's awful both wifi & wired" must have a rubbish/weak internet as mine runs perfectly. I recommend having a good connection then you will be fine..Don't believe the haters

Really feel for Sony when people slate the ps tv when they clearly haven't got a clue what they're talking about, as if your 70 meg download speed has anything to do with the connection between your ps4 and ps tv. oO

Predicting the price of this will plummet fairly quickly.

please everyone buy this! If more people owned it Sony might update the shop which was abandoned the day this came out in Europe. I switched to the USA store (1 store only per format of the machine) and noticed a special pstv section and more compatible games. Sometimes games that worked yesterday don't work the next time you use them and new games like wolfenstien work in America but not here.

The UK store keeps disconnecting after a while and only 40% of the games I own work on the unit. Please everyone buy this so Sony has some customers to support with updates or they're just gonna dump it.

I don't know if they'll have this setting on a PS TV (as it would be rather pointless) but on Vita there is a confusingly named setting called 'Use Wi-Fi in Power Save Mode' which significantly reduces the network performance over wi-fi - if you've found it slow wirelessly, try turning that off and see if you notice any difference (if it exists).

I'll pick one up for a laugh when it inevitably becomes sub £30/40 by the end of the year if not sooner !!

use wired connection for both n do as stefano said.

69.99 lolz

It's half arsed in all it's functionalities, streaming over Wifi is bad, over LAN is a mixed bag and only 720p. It can't play every Vita game either but it at least is worth having if you want to play button only games on your TV.

Unless a firmware fixes the streaming issues, it will be in the bargain bin soon.

Sony made an utter erse of this one. They let expectations run wild so that the release was inevitably going to disappoint a great many people.

For the simple functionality of playing your PS4 games in a different room elsewhere in the house (wired only) then this is great. Just a shame it's crippled with no Netflix and the likes as well as that god awful Vita o/s.

I used it with cat 6 and it was fine for single player it poor for multi player.

Limited multi media

Graphics take a hit

Poor reviews everywhere

I wouldn't pay more than 40 quid

It obviously does ,after to him hence him asking the question.
Just because your happy to wait for a week doesn't mean every one else is.

sorry...what I meant was, if you want to save £10 then thats how long its takes as no one else is selling it for that price...I appreciate he might want tit sooner, but if thats the case then he'll need to cough up the cash...but how long it takes should not mean he doesn't want one now instead...that makes no sense at all...getting it sooner doesn't make it a better product
