If you really want to use a data plan btw (which I doubt many people do) then this is used to remove the Vodafone lock.

Im going to get one soon because I've got loads of ps plus games to put on it. just wish the memory cards would drop in price.

The memory card prices are stupid as is the bespoke memory card requirement in general really. There was talk of an unofficial microSD adaptor but I don't think it ever materialised.

Yeah it's the Vita's single biggest downfall, but don't let it stop you getting the console!

You can buy game bundles with memory cards included for reasonable prices e.g. here:

Definitely a good way to use £30 although you might find 8GB of space a bit limited in the long term.

why they didn't use SD standard in the 1st place is anyone's guess.

They argued anti-piracy. Everyone else argued greed.

there will be no sd adapter for these. they made the card a similar size as an sd card, to ensure an adapter would be pretty much impossible.

Vitas aren't locked to Vodafone, it was just a release partnership and you can stick any old sim in it.

and if you do end up buying one these. don't mess about with the lower memory cards, just bite the bullet and buy a 64gb card from Hong Kong. best buy I have made for my vita.

I thought that but Tesco state that this one is. Mine is an imported Wi-Fi model, I've never actually used a 3G version personally.

American and Japanese vitas are sim locked, European (including Australia) are sim free, mine came with a vodaphone sim but I've used 02, giffgaff and 3 sims in mine with no problem, just bang it in and off you go.

Unless you really want to carry a ton of games with you then a 16-32GB card should be enough for most people I think.

I have a 16GB one because I refuse to pay the premium for any of the higher capacity versions. On the flip-side it also means that I buy far less Vita games so nice one Sony, you did well there.

Yes, that's a bargain. You might want to post that as a separate thread actually.

Have now done that..I think not the best at this.

Same, I went up to 16GB after about a year as 8GB was just a tad too limiting, but I find 16GB plenty. I'm never far away from a WiFi connection and don't have movies/photos etc on there, so no need to supersize just for the sake of having all of the gamezzz on one card!

Really starting to feel like the Vita has had its day and will now just fade away into obscurity. Shame it wasn't more of a success, it's such a great device.

Just grabbed one of these, missed out on another one yesterday in an auction and got given a £10 off paypal voucher code in the email saying i hadn't won the bid.
Take £10 though
Had to be used before midnight tonight. 12 month warranty is the big plus for me too.

Looked like 'Everyone else agreed' at first glance.
I was thinking WHAT??

I thought vita would have a resurgence due to PS4 remote play feature. That's why I want one (don't even have a PS4 yet!).

Fantastic little console. It's great for remote play of the PS4 and chucking some classic PS1 games on. I keep SoTN and FFVII on mine permanently.

If it's 3G, then this should be the OLED version, shouldn't it?

Sold out

Are these worth the money? I mean I would literally just play FIFA and NFS on this to pass time on a night shift...?

Yeh - there are some great games.

Soul Sacrifice Delta
Uncharted Golden Abyss
Freedom Wars (out the end of October)
Assassin's Creed III: Liberation
Hotline Miami
Borderlands 2 (not the best version of the game but Borderlands 2 on a handheld is some achievement)
Gravity Rush
Dragon's Crown
Killzone Mercenary
Danganrompa

If you can get a bargain then it's a very good buy.

I feel the same as you two. I refuse to pay over the odds for a memory card. I've got two 16s which I got for about £12 each. I almost got a 32 for £40 but that's just way too much, I can't really justify paying over £1 per GB when we shouldn't need to.

I feel like the Vita has had it's day too and it's really sad because it's a great console with huge potential. Sony really did mess up big time with it. They released it without a Micro USB charger, no internal memory and then obviously the whole memory card situation. Then as soon as they saw that it wasn't selling that well, they just gave up on the games and didn't bother supporting it well. if only they had the same desire for it to succeed that they had for the PS1-4, it could have been a success and something really special. I'll still always keep mine though and I'm glad I bought it. It's just a bit disappointing to see how it's ended up being.

I'll be honest, I don't use that feature much. I've played a couple of games of Resogun through it and that was fine but I tried Ghosts once and found it impossible.
