VR continues falling.

I've just sold mine, but I hope it isn't a fad and we get better and easier to use headsets in the future.

I feel we're on the cusp of getting there technology wise, and with continued investment and support, VR is definitely something that can excel.
By the time you factor in the camera and move controllers, it's not really that much cheaper
Anyone able to recommend this? I've got the normal PS4, planning on buying Resident Evil 7, which I hear is quite the experience with this kit on.
Great Price! I would bite but I'm still on the ropes as to whether I should hold off until the inevitable 2.0 model, or whether this is just going to continue to drop in price as the hype goes down.
I'll bite with the VR when it's 200
Glad the prices are falling. I'd really like to see VR take off just because it offers a whole new way to play and can support some new types of game that otherwise wouldn't be possible. While good development can mitigate it, I think the main issue with these first gen headsets is the screen resolution, as it's so close to your eyes you need a high resolution or are going to start seeing the pixels that make up the image.

Perhaps over the next year, I'd love to see Sony come out with a higher resolution one, say for use with the PS4 Pro, as I doubt the base model could push a higher resolution at the frame rates needed for VR. Totally cross compatible of course just like PS4/PS4 Pro so no one ends up with useless hardware....

Well worth it! Some really good games for it. Resident Evil 7 in VR is one hell of an amazing experience! It will properly fill you with fear and panic, and fill your pants with something else

There's bound to be comments about motion sickness, not everyone gets it! Don't believe the sweeping statements! I've never had a problem with it.
This may be a very stupid question, and i may have missed some important info above, or i may be completely wrong, but i thought you could only use the PSVR with the PS4 Pro?

If that were true the PSVR would never have made it to production. PS4 sales dwarf the PS4 Pro sales by quite a considerable margin for obvious reasons.

Not true, it works with the standard PS4, be it original style or the slim.

However you will see graphical improvement with the Pro

No, it works with any PS4, but some (in fact I think all) of the games are enhanced with PS4 Pro, which usually means higher/more stable framerate and/or extra graphical details but it's still fully functional. they had to make it compatible with base PS4 or they would have massively restricted their audience considering the PS4 Pro only came out towards the end of last year so MANY more people will have the original model than the Pro....
Great price, great piece of kit.

Why a fad. A handful of great games out for it. Farpoint, RE7, DriveClub. Dirt.

Couldn't be happier with my purchase and worth every penny

The only game I've had issues with was Starblood arena. The speed and full 360 motion made my stomach turn. Every other title I've played so far has been fine.
I thought this was deal of the century then. I read it as PS4 slim + game + PSVR for £289.85. Little confusing for us simple people OP.

Hot, just not as Hot X)

Nah, personally i wouldn't get it unless you have the Pro
Was scrambling for my wallet then when I saw the £199.85 price. Thought it was the PS VR and Horizon Zero Dawn haha. Still a good price for the headset. Am hoping by the time the end of the year arrives I can pick one up for around £250.

Lol Me too. " PSVR + Horizon ZD for £199 wow, I want both" I thought.

Still £30 less than Amazon and £50 less than Game is good if you've got the camera etc already (got camera and one move controller from ps3 days).

I have a real love hate relationship with the VR

When I'm not using it, I hate it, think about selling it, wires are everywhere too which can get annoying, and I wonder why I even have it

Then I plug it on and put it on and boom, I realise why I've not sold it, it's an amazing experience, certainly takes gaming to the next level in my opinion. I played RES7 the other day for the first time, even streamed it with a couple of mates watching, they said they found it quite intense and couldn't imagine what it would have been like playing it wearing the VR, well I can assure you it completely sucks you in and you forget you are just playing a game in your living room. My heart rate jumped up a few times, and on a couple of occasions I really found myself on edge. I've got Rush of Blood which I'm yet to get round to playing which is meant to be another amazing experience, Drive Club which is great, and I can't wait for Skyrim or Doom

So yeah, that's my love hate relationship with the PS VR
My experience is very similar, its a bit of a pain to setup but once you do its worth it!

RES7 is awesome but I have to tell everybody to be silent as the slightest noise either on the game or in the house will have you jumping. The first time our dog brushed past my leg while I was playing it I nearly screamed like a girl!!

Rush of Blood is really good too and Here They Lie is also incredibly creepy. Robinsons Journey is a bit lighter but I found the controls are sometimes a bit tricky to get to grips with. As well as those games you mentioned Ace Combat and Gran Tourismo should also be great and it also feels like its crying out for somebody to make a boxing game!

Anyway after all that waffle its great, go and buy it, buy it now!!

I think it's a good deal considering Horizon is around £20 on it's own thesedays.

Keep an eye on the Amazon Warehouse deals. I picked the VR up for a nudge over £240 a couple weeks back. The deal was posted on here and I couldn't resist. Some are reluctant to purchase warehouse deals as they assume used, but my purchase was unused. The seal on the box was broken, so i'm guessing it was a return, but not a single item in the box had been unwrapped.

That was approx £80 cheaper than their New price at the time. If breaking the boxes seal is worth the extra cash then fair enough, each to their own. We all have our preferences, but i'd recommend the warehouse to anyone trying to keep the costs down.

I picked up 2 move controllers and the camera from CEX for £55, so my total for the complete bundle was around £295
I got the vr with my pro last week and I am absolutely loving it. Only issue is having to swap the hdmi around so I can play hdr gaming after finishing with the VR. VR is almost there and it has huge potential with gaming.
.heat for the deal
Great price for the headset, paid £60 more than this 6 months ago.

It just seems everyone who gets one absolutely loves it for a bit...then plays it a little less, then a lot less and then not at all - reverting back to high definition gaming whilst comfortable on a sofa. It's kind of like 3D. Everyone declared it the best thing ever, there was loads of support initially...and now? Well, it's nearly dead. It feels a bit like that. I hope I'm wrong. Because I did love it in small spurts, and genuinely hope it succeeds and ushers gaming into new and exciting areas. But for now; I hated it was so low resolution, that there were a million wires, and that I had to unplug it to use HDR on my PS4 Pro.

That's what they said about 3D TV and this is starting to feel a little reminiscent in my view. I hope not though but only time will tell.

Edit: Apologies, I didn't see your last post. Great minds and all that

wonder how cheap these will be on Amazon Prime Day?
Star Trek Bridge Crew (is PSVR) is very good too. Good to be able to give voice commands.
just to clarify can you use the Vr with the old PS3 Move and Camera ?? or do you need to buy new 1s
It's not with the game though for £199 is it. I've looked but can't get it for that price.

You could spend your whole life like that with tech...Just take the leap... Do it. It's awesome. I bought mine with the intention of holding onto it boxed and new to see if it was rubbish or not and then sell it if it was. I opened it, played it and I have not played a flat game since. (November). Games like Rush of Blood, VR Resident Evil 7 (different league to non vr) Eve Valkyrie and now Farpoint with the Aim Controller have taken my 3 decades of gaming to an all time high. I haven't felt this enthused by it since the launch of the SNES.

Is it as good as the virtual reality films portrayal of the tech from the 90's films lawnmower man, disclosure e.t.c ?

How does the vr simulate your walking and hand movements ?
