V1 or V2?
Listing says these are V1... £30 extra gets you a game and future proofing.
Couldn't see a sign if this is V2. Worth a punt?

V1 or V2?

I am assuming as it is awaiting stock it is going to be V2.

Ah, good spot. I messaged the seller, just got the following reply:

"New message from: shopto_outlet (429,690)

This is the V1 version of the headset

Kind Regards,

ShopTo Support"
Not if Sony have old stock of the version 1 and retailers can buy it at a vastly reduced price
It’s V1 guys - just had confirmation from ShopTo

Should I expire this deal as I think it should be no more than £249 for the v1.

Future proof? This is no more future proof than V1 other than having to unplug a cable for HDR. Not exactly groundbreaking stuff!

Punting it (i suspect) voids warranty.

I'm sure most folks will be getting a 4k TV in the next few years

Yes you're all %%**** comedians but if you'd had a V1 with a 4k HDR TV it gets tedious and something gives, in my case it was sanity.

Just accept that the V2 has HDR passthrough which makes it better if you have a 4K HDR TV...

I don't disagree that it is better if you have a 4k TV, of course it's better. I don't, however, agree with the future proofing argument. This cable issue has nothing to do with future proofing, the core tech stays completely the same.

I just mean tad most people who don't care about 4K as they have 1080 will probably get a 4K TV while they still use PSVR.

When you play good games you realise how your brain fills in the gaps with the tech.... I still think the x360 is fine now but for lazy developers and needless external crap (connectivity apps etc...)

Well yeah, I get your point in all honesty :-)

A lighthearted comment an not intended to needle sorry. But nothing is future proof.
The best way to get a V2 for this money is to get the offer from the likes of Smyth's toys and then trade in skyrim for around £25, then you will not be to far of this deal but getting v2
I’m selling my psvr v2 due to me just not being able to do VR at all. Makes me sick. Disappointed as the experience is great. My body just don’t allow it.

Did you give it a few tries? I've heard some people say it initially made them a bit nauseous, but once they tried it a few more times the feeling went away - they got their 'VR legs'.

I’m fine with any game where you stand still, it’s where movement comes into it. Skyrim and resident evil 7 I feel sick n dizzy instantly.

Bummer. Hopefully the tech & options will improve for the next iteration so that everyone can use it.
Why am I getting alerts for deals posted last week? I haven't added any new keywords.
I got V1 in the BF sales for £190. However it was just the bare unit. I have recently exchanged it for V2 and with camera and games included it came to about £30-£40 more. V2 has much better cable arrangement and controls on the headset as well. The processor box is smaller. It's just a neater implementation but at the end of the day they both do the same thing!

No 4K TV yet, so the pass through not required but will be looking for one in the NY sales
