PlayStation VR is being released on 13th October for £349 UK RRP. But if you import from Amazon Spain where it's currently €397 using an Amazon gift card, you can get it for £307 to the UK including shipping. You can still order with a credit card now, but you'll pay at the exchange rate price on the release date (which may be very different).

This way, you've guaranteed the price with Amazon and there'll be no import charges as long we're still part of the European Union.

Steps to buy are as follows:

1) Go to amazon.es (or follow the link, which will show you the item itself)
2) Buy an electronic gift card to the value of €400 (you might even be able to get the exact value if you really want to save the last few pennies).
3) Add PSVR to your basket
4) Use the voucher code at checkout

Is there any need to buy the gift card, rather than just buying it directly at checkout?

If you pre-order at the checkout, money doesn't get charged until dispatch. If that happens you're at the mercy of a market that may fluctuate fairly heavily. Depending on tomorrow's result things could get *very* hairy in that regard :-)
EU 4 lyfe.
Might wanna see how tomorrow pans out first, lol
stay in Britain! I don't want to pay too much for my psvr

It will take a few years of negotiation to fully exit so will not effect ordering this.

So tempted after E3 to get this but i really need to test try it out first somewhere.
is this guaranteed phase 1 or phase 2 stock? heard there might be shortages.

i was in the fence too but got sold as well. buy it, I'm sure you'll love it. I would just buy it.

Or vote to leave and make more money in your backpocket to afford things.

EU is a joke!
that was a light hearted joke in my comment. I run my own service company and leaving would result in less money in my pocket and downsize my work force.

It's as good as I hoped, I've tried it. It's all down to how pukey the games are now.
why would you have to downsize ?
oO I find it riduculous that these vr headsets cost as much as the ps4 console, and they're basically an accessory like the camera... Rip off

New tech is always overpriced to cover the development costs, however, virtual reality isn't a rip off, as the potential for it is absolutely massive, after trying the HTC Vive I was impressed, though clearly there is work to do in terms of AAA content.

They'll get cheaper sure. But you can hardly compare the screen in this to the camera. Nor the breakout box.

It might affect what value you get for your pound though.

That is my main concern right now. I know some gamers reported nausea effects of using the VR.
I was worried it would turn out like the vita at first but now i think VR could be really big given the right support.

Hi all - yes, buying from within the EU does mean we currently wouldn't have any import duty and if we leave the EU then the value of pound may well plummet which would affect the price.. but this deal wasn't meant to be a debate about the referendum tomorrow.

This is actually the best link I've watched regarding the referendum from neither side of the debate and set my mind straight as to what I'm doing:

I hope it helps someone who's on the fence. And I'm looking forward to PSVR releasing as well

Amazon's page says that it's released on 13th October and my estimated delivery would be between 19th and 21st October. Hopefully, that'll be because it's linked to their stock allocation rather than just were all orders to be fulfilled.

I'm quite prone to FPS sickness and it didn't make me feel sick. It did make me feel a little light headed, but it wasn't unpleasant. Google cardboard makes me feel really sick. So I guess they have taken care of a lot of the issues that cause sickness quite well.

But that said, I am sure it will depend on the software. Some games are bound to be worse than others. I reckon it probably takes a while to find your 'VR legs' too. FPS sickness wears off for me if I play a few days in a row.

I can't see how it could fail to big. It's so much more involving than anything that's been used before.
Heat for the price, but i really don't see the point in this personally.

Have you tried it (or any other VR kit like Oculus or Vive)? I've tried several games on PSVR and it really will come down to the software. Personally, I'm getting it for Rez above everything else.
Will there be any power issues etc with purchasing a USA or EUROPEAN model?

Someone clearly didn't read or watch the video. It's not experts - it's one person - and his sole job has been to study the effects of the EU so no, of course he didn't predict a financial crisis. Are you one of these people that's sick of being told what to do by "experts"?

Actually, its like a TV rather than a camera. So yea.. rip off you need a TV to play a PS4

Wow, a whole single person. That's my mind made up. I'd have been wary had it been two or even umpteen people, but one single person has to be right. JUST HAS TO BE!!!11one!OMFG!!
If we vote leave it won't be instant! We will still be in EU when this is released it won't matter if the majority of the UK side with the intelligent economists or the the majority vote with the racists....

I jest.... Obviously...

I just hope turn out is good

Vote and be proud to vote.
£300 to play some demos and gimmicks? Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!
I guess I could always order this and cancel if the rate changes massively prior to dispatch. Cheers OP.
Havent ordered as it will drop after launch and it will be this price after Xmas here and at least their will be some games to play by then and hopefully any issues it may have will be sorted. Still **** off that i paid £450 for my Xbox One and it can be had now for £200 or less so im not getting stung again and its not really £307 as you need a camera and move controller.

Good price though for those that want one.
How long has the xb1 been out though. A few years vs 2 months.

Because these new tech are not cheap -_- Go look up other high end VR as well like Oculus and Vive which is nearly 2x the price of PSVR.

Sony addressed the motion sickness people worry about many times in interviews you can look it up they worked with developers and the headset to minimise risk of motion sickness.
The PSVR display also runs at 120Hz stable unlike Google Cardboard which runs at 60Hz and drops which can put you off and Google don't have hard pressed requirements for devs on mobile
Bear in mind that you're ordering from amazon Spain, so if you have any issues you have to post it back to Spain and pay for the postage yourself

I'm very familiar with what they have done, but that doesn't mean it's perfect. People at e3 got very sick playing Resident Evil. I doubt many people are more enthusiastic about PSVR than me, but I need to be realistic about it.

I brought up Google cardboard just show I am the type of person that can get VR sick, but PSVR didn't have the effect on me (yet). Google cardboard doesn't even know which way is forward half the time, let alone worrying about how many hz.

Honestly, just watch it and you'll see why it's powerful. If you have any arguments left to leave after watching that I'd be shocked.

That's the game, not the hardware. It's Capcom's game code itself that's the problem.
