If you've been purchasing the free ps+ games every month, you'll be spoilt with games. This'll need a memory card though, I'd advise a 16GB.
Is there really any stock anywhere...

Cool, but you can't order online and you can't click and collect.

In store, maybe there's 1 or 2 lying about, but I doubt it.

I'd advise a 64GB card :), though I guess they still cost an arm and a leg.
I really want the OLED one but trying to find a second hand one that isn't busted up these days isn't easy..

a 32gb at the very least unless you want to be switching games around constantly.
tried three local stores have not had these since Christmas was the reply.
OOS everywhere according to their site.
got me oled badboy still looking fresh from release with a 64GB thang.. lovin it. go on have some heat though
Just don't get your hopes up about remote play. It's laggy whatever you do.
No click and collect and online stock check is useless, i'll pass.
I'm honestly expecting a new Vita model this year, probably one to address the main concerns of the current model (Sony wouldn't fracture the customer base on something that sold as badly as the Vita), one of which i suspect would be memory media.
This is however a good price...actually tempted...

Maybe if you are out and about. I use it at home when the TV is otherwise engaged and I find it a superb feature. No issues at all.
Hot if you can find it!

Connection for me was fine, it's the placement of the right stick and lack of trigger buttons which made it awkward for remote play for me. If they allowed you to pair the Vita with a Dualshock 4 I would be all over it!

Highly unlikely from what I've seen/heard. I can't see them pushing money into development & production for one of their devices that is niche & unlikely to gain further ground now. Many analysts suggest that Sony will step out of the dedicated mobile gaming platform. But, who knows eh - none of us are insiders.
As a previous PS Vita owner, be careful: without a memory card, this device is almost useless. You need atleast a 16GB card (literally the minimum). Check out the prices for the PS Vita memory cards (the console doesn't use normal microSD cards) before you invest in the console, the 64gb card is like £60-70 on it's own.

Well that has put me right off.

What is so special about it? Sounds like the kind of move a company beginning with N may try to pull off.

The prices for memory cards are pretty expensive. I actually took advantage of Ebay's "20% off" offer a few months back in order to buy a 64GB card.

I bought an OLED Vita many moons ago. Just waiting on a really good deal so as to get another one for USA PS1 games. This deal is good, but I don't have any stores near me, and I think I might be able to pick up one for cheaper if I just wait a bit more. I'm in no rush anyway.

For me, the Vita is the perfect PS1, PSP, Indie and Vita machine. Such a great piece of kit that has been criminally overlooked by the masses. Wish it was doing 3DS numbers as I think that Sony now have the greater pedigree of first party titles mixed with third party support (in general). Obviously this statement doesn't apply to the Vita but one can wish...

I honestly forgot the Vita existed.
Does the vita have the right number of shoulder buttons etc for PS1 games?

I agree no chance of a new vita IMO.

It's disappointing that it hasn't kicked on. Uncharted Golden Abyss was great but it wasn't enough to get them to create any new AAA titles sadly. It has so much potential but they crippled it with not giving it enough shoulder buttons.

Surprised this is getting heat, especially when you can get bargain psvita's in great condition on eBay with memory card and accessories for that price.
I've recently bought one (off eBay, £80 refurb) for remote play and it's ace! We've got BT infinity (20-30GB is the usual download speed) and with the ps4 wired and the vita obviously wireless it's pretty senseless. Rocket League has a slight bit of lag but I personally think that's more due to the smaller screen than the actual controls, it handles fine, just plays differently to the TV. Bloodborne and Fallout 4 work great, far better than I ever expected and both are a joy to use on the small screen. Again, in sure everyone has different experiences but mine have been ace, fully justified the price i paid. Heat!

I remember how great killzone mercenary was, imo greatest handheld shooter ever. Released around the same time as Shadowfall and Mercenary owned it in every department (story mode, longevity and replayability, the guns were better, had a well implemented vanguard system, the melees looked awesome especially the ones where you knife the enemy in the crotch and through the skull pulling the brains out, fantastic flawless multiplayer which worked and epic maps (plus the dlc maps blood gracht and tharsis refinery))
Good price but these should be, maybe, £79 new by now. Then they might sell a few and develop a few games...
Tbh Sony missed a trick with the rear touch pad being utilised over trigger buttons, Sony were too concerned about how slim the Vita would be and would have achieved more had they opted for triggers instead, same applies to the Thumbsticks, the lack of integrated L3 and R3 buttons in the thumbsticks has put developers off the system. They needed to mimick a Dual Shock controller but the touch screen tablet feature was the only real highlight.
I got a Vita two years ago now, really is hardly used since purchase. Real shame as it has great potential (Geometry Wars 3 is awesome on it, and the Uncharted game I thought was very impressive as showing what the machine could do).

Talk like that Mister is going to make we £100 worst off.
NOTE:

This comes with 16GB memory included. That should do you for a while. Memory cards are hotswappable as well.
I got myself a Vita about a month ago, and think its an excellent piece of kit! So many games I wanted ended up being "free" because I owned PS4 versions either because I bought them or they were on PS Plus and they turned out to be cross buys.

Even though the Vita never properly took off there are dozens and dozens of top quality games available, mostly on the cheap now as well. Only took me a week to more or less fill a 64GB card.

Some of the games you could play forever and a day as well. Games like Everybodys Golf, Wipeout, Killzone, Virtua Tennis 4 still have really active online players.

I don't really play a lot pf games at the same time. Normally try to complete one before starting another. Just completed Golden Abyss and started Gravity Rush. Got AC Liberation and KZ Mercenaries on the card along with some smaller games like resogun, helldivers, black swan and Oddworld. That's more than enough for me to carry around. Got a 8GB memory card with a couple games on it as well!
