I received mine yesterday from Game and i have to say i am blown away by how good it is (using a PS4Pro). I've owned all the Oculus headsets & most of the WMR headsets including both Odysseys and the HP Reverb. The image quality holds up to any PC headset, i actually prefer it myself as you don't get god rays. The fit and comfort is what stands out the most, why the other manufacturers can't get it right i don't know. Astro Bot looks and plays better than anything else i've tried on Oculus or Steam, can't wait to give Wipeout a go

Get it quick at this price as the UK retailers have hiked the prices back to normal. Hot

Yeah I paid £185 from a UK retailer for the starter pack with just world's it'll be here tomorrow. Wouldn't even be bothered to return and order this for same price. I already had resident evil anyway. I don't like skyrim but could've got astrobot and golf extra but seems to much hassle to send back and wait for this then.
I was thinking of getting an oculus Go as I've been playing with father in law's oculus. Can I get some pros & cons between both the oculus Go & PSVR.?. Come on, join in folks. Enlighten me.
I like the idea of watching movies also, am I tethered using PSVR? Is it DLNA compliant ( watch movies on my WD my cloud) ? Can I watch Cinema HD somehow ? Thanks.

I thought the Rift S was much better than the PSVR for clarity and graphics. But you are right about the God Rays.

The Oculus Go isn't comparable to the PSVR. That is solely designed for movie watching. The more expensive "quest" is comparable.

Quest £400
PSVR+PS4 Pro roughly the same price. You get very similar games, but much better exclusives on the PSVR. Google a comparison and you'll see.
Quest is easier to set up and is wire free up an 1 hour. But once you set the PSVR up, it is phenomenal. I got mine back out today and bought and played some new games. I have owned it over a year and half. (PSVR).

So did i until i tried the PSVR. I'm not sure how much difference the Pro makes but i find the overall image better on PSVR than any other headset i've tried. Obviously the HP reverb was much higher res but it also had many negatives that the PSVR doesn't have, thick heavy cable, tiny fov with visible screen edges, god rays, buggy software......

Also to get anything like comparable games you need to link the Quest to PC so it's not cordless. As a standalone the games are pretty basic as it using an ageing snapdragon 835. The difference between Quest and Rift on something like Robo Recall is very obvious.
It's looking more like PSVR then.
What plug. Does this come with?

I got the PSVR on launch. Sold it two weeks later. At the time had the OG Rift and thought the OG Rift was a little better mostly due to a better machine (PC be PS) but the god Rays were awful. Overall though I didn't get on with the OG Rift and sold it on due to the resolution and SDE. I've now got a Rift S and find it much better than the OG. So much so I'm keeping it.

I think the main issue is that the PS4 and even the Pro is limited compared to a PC. The Rift S/ Vive/Index etc for most is better due to the much improved graphics from their gaming rig and hugely improved tracking. As well as a much larger game library.

I would say a PS4 Pro + PSVR V Quest is a good comparison for the price.

I'd like to try the PSVR again but I can't see it better than my Rift S and PC.

Perhaps PS5 and PSVR2 can bring me back.

I agree that the controllers/tracking are much better on the Rift S but what Sony have pulled off with PSVR (and pretty old tech) is very impressive. Although the panel used is lower res, the oled rgb has very little screen door effect and pretty much holds it own, the sweet spot is massive compared to everything else and you don't get much stereo overlap at all (most VR headsets are like looking through 2 toilet roll tubes by comparison). I believe the PS5/PSVR2 will finally bring VR in to the mainstream. The PSVR game catalogue is without doubt the best of any platform.

I agree. The PSVR is incredible considering the price point.

I found the screen door effect on the newer Rift S Vs the PSVR comparable. Same with the FaoV (depending on your IPD and how close you love the lenses to your eyes).

I wish the screen was brighter and colours less washed out with the Rift S. When you are in a game though it does pass. But when you are used to playing HDR it's a bummer haha.

I would say though that anyone that has a good PC Rig would benefit more from the Rift just because of the larger available game library and tracking.

If you don't have a PC then the PSVR plus PS4 Pro is a good gateway into VR.

Unless they bring the popular VR titles to the PS5/PSVR2 such as Pavlov, Zero Calibre, VRChat, Payday 2 VR etc then I think PCVR is the way to go ultimately for most.

I'm hoping Microsoft bring Rift S compatibility to the Next Gen Xbox Series X. But from their recent comments it's looking less likely.
