Blockbusters have the PS3 Slim + Uncharted 2 + Another EA game from the a small list ( I chose NFS ) + 1 months rental for £284.99. This was instore only.

I was ringing around loads of Sainsburys to try and get the 279 deal from them but I could never get anywhere with any stock. I drove to 3 to find they all had bits but no sets, always one bit missing. Went into blockbusters saw this deal and the guy arranged for all the bits to come to store from other places. Great service.

Ok its £5 more but you get 1 months free rental as well, although its only 1 game at a time though. The nice thing about this is that your rentals don't have to start then and there, they're doing a voucher that allows the 1 month period to start at any point up until Jan something. This is to enable them to sell the ps3 as an xmas gift now. The voucher is tied to a certain blockbuster account though.

So I'm a proud owner of a new PS3 without all the hassle of the sainsburys plus 1 month rentals for a fiver, nice.

Ok so no Nectar but hey. Happy hunting.

ps. They had a 120Gb version of this but I think it was 269 so the Sainsburys one is better for that size.

hmv have a decent deal on apparently too??? not that i know much about them.

This is very slightly better than the hmv/game deal, as although the same price, you get the 1 months free blockbuster.

That said I'm waiting for a better deal than that, as amazon and hmv both recently did a 3 game deal for around the same price. Anyone know of any possible deals in the pipeline? Surely they'll be some sort of COD bundle..

dont have blockbuster near me, so hey no diff there.

I know what you mean, i've been holding off and holding off but the Sainsburys deal tipped it for me to start looking. I'm trying really hard to not keep looking. Completely agree I think there will be a COD bundle coming up but I wanted U2 and NFS so it worked out.

As an aside just been playing NFS WOW !

Glad its not online, I would have kicked myself for not reviewing alternatives

no blockbuster nr me either so may go for an asda deal...

i cant see the sainsbury's deal being beaten before xmas.. especially if you do what i did and sell the two games for £30 each after.

HMV had this same deal, same price but with Fifa 10 on top of it. That was an awesome deal. I think that's gone now, but maybe hold out for something similar. I wouldn't be surprised if there is COD MW2 bundle deal soon.

I know it will only be available to a few people but a similar deal to this (without rental) is available in the Sony shop at Heathrow T5. It was around £250 for the 250gb with Uncharted 2 plus either Fifa 10 or Need for Speed(? Sorry I can't be sure of the exact details)
The only problem is that you need to be through security (flying somewhere) to access the shop. Hope it helps someone.

This is good, the rental can actually save you money in that you don't spend £30 on a game you don't like/complete in a day.

sainsburys have a better deal, £279.99 for 250gb and choise of 2 games including fifa 10 and pro evalution soccer, better deal i think:)

I think fifa was also included in the deal as an option but I'm not into fotoball games so didn't pay much attention.

ps. Thanks all for the comments, I appreciate the heat

it also includes uncharted 2 and need for speed shift.

am not exactly sure thats quite my idea either, something more girl power ish without rev powerish, lol.

add another 15 pound you get another game . i got the uncharted 2 need for speed and fifa 10 - not bad all in all as the games are easily worth 30 pound each so deducted works out 210.

At GAME : I traded in my unboxed backward compatible 60GB PS3 (game price matched CEX) and I managed to get this Brand New 250GB Slim PS3, Uncharted 2, NFS Shift, FIFA 2010 and an extra official sony dual shock 3 controller (all with 12 months warranty - upgrade only cost me an extra £101.99. To say I am happy is an understatement. Good Luck to all who try it!

-1 nothing ground breaking here really... even after selling the games
