Sony RX100 Digital Camera - £222 used - like new @ Amazon warehouse

When checking how much my old camera was selling for I stumbled upon this deal. Normal price is £330 but if you select 'used - like new' you get the 20% off which brings the price way down to £222. Owning the camera, I know how great a price this is, it is the best camera you can get around this price range, the quality and diverse range of features are unmatched.

I would hardly call amazon warehouse items 'jumble-sale stuff'. They are almost always brand new in a damaged box, and can often be had for a sizable discount. They come with a year warranty - which is often the manufacturers length anyway.
That went quickly! Nice find.
What gen is this though? Aren’t they up to mark soon and this is probably 1st gen

It is the mk I, but each generation of RX100 is priced differently and the mk I is definitely still a worthwhile consideration at this price point.
It is very annoying that the original is still the same price from 5 years ago. But the competition has been so slow and poor at making a competitor it is not surprising.

Agree. I've never been to a jumble sale where the seller offers a rock solid one-year warranty.

Claiming on the warranty can be problematic, though. Last time I bought from Amazon Warehouse, I was supplied a product which arrived with essential bits missing, which I couldn't return because Amazon wouldn't fully cover for return postage, with the only other option being to wait in from 8am to 9pm for one of their drivers to, at some undisclosed point throughout the day, collect it. I decided just to take the hit and bin it.
Expired.

i take it you are just repeating the same stuff that others spout?

5 years ago was over 450 quid
Looks like the warehouse stock is gone now.
Try the new tz200 from lumix. Small but massive Zoom on a 1 inch sensor.

Ive returned a couple of warehouse items I wasn't happy with, they've always covered the cost and in two instances they refunded me and let me keep the item anyway. Unfortunate you've been treated like though, wouldn't expect it from Amazon.

i am guessing a nearer equivalent would be grade A @ 205 but still decent with the warranty

The grade a means it’s got the box. That’s what I got a grade a from cex using loads of vouchers and credit card for the balance. Given I haven’t seen the box for a couple of years since I bought it, the box clearly isn’t important for everyone. Buy online, I think delivery is free on this, and if you don’t like it the purchase can be taken to a store now for instant refund if it’s within 14 days. If there is something wrong with grade b and grade c camera functionality you will soon know anyway. Same two year guarantee though

so... the best comparison to this deal is grade A then agreed?

ofc :
  • A Mint - Product in mint/new condition with original box and all original accessories.
  • B Good - Product in good condition with all essential accessories. No box required.

grade b can have the box so may get an even better bargain - best to have a look if possible with less than A

Well I don’t know about the comparison with this deal posted. I’m happy whatever. I just wanted to share info that may be useful.

With regards to grading, i would say the description in your post is my experience when it comes to phones and tablets. But not always necessarily true for some other products.
How does this camera compare to the one on an iPhone X?
