Sony SEL55210 E Mount lens £159 delivered @ Amazon

24
Found 26th Apr
Compatible with any APS-C E-mount camera such as the various nex models, a3xxx, a5xxx, a6xxx etc
(Fits on full frame as well but doesn't cover whole sensor)

Cheapest 'long' zoom for emount users - has been cheaper a couple of times in the distant past but this seems to be the cheapest for a long long time

went hot @ 179 a couple of weeks back

next higher grade zoom costs 6 times this so may as well get one when cheap

seems to be silver only and for prime users (everyone is in on a share right?)

I bought one of these a few months ago from a company in France. It’s a great for the price. Here’s a photo I took of the moon using my Sony A5100 and this lens

Hoping someone on here can help and apologise for going slightly off point. Could someone recommend a lens that will or could fit my Canon EOS 500D for taking pictures of the countryside. The standard lens is on at the moment and looking for something better. Thank you in advance 🔥

Canon 10-18mm maybe? Good value and good image quality.

Holy Sweet moses! Loving that picture man!
Got the black one from SLR Hut in the US delivered in 3 days via DHL for £161 a year back (Amazon was £229 at that time for this lens) and its a decent budget lens but always better to get from Uk retailer especially Amazon heat added
Great price op.

Please tell me how? I can never get it to focus with mine despite using manual settings - what settings did you use?

just keep trying, depends on conditions as well
probably best to do it on a tripod with remote/timed shutter but can be done hand held pretty easily as very bright
you'll get better detail with partial moons than full due to the direction of light over craters

some just use simple camera AF, others focus peaking with magnification (very awkward on a5100)
try a variety of exposures and see what works best, wide open is fairly sharp in the centre so thats what i generally use but try stopping down a little as well an example would be 1/200 f6.3 iso100 and vary from there
pp can help a lot
Sorry for the stupid question - are these two identical apart from price, one is black and the other silver?

yep, 70quid and colour are the difference
This is a great value lens. Perfect for everyday stuff. I love mine
I paid more than this when I bought this lens second-hand! I've got a Sony A5100 and I use this lens a lot:

If wanting a wife for landscape canon 10-18 or Samyang. Or go sigma art the 1.8 zoom is amazing
LOL, I asked Amazon to price match against Currys and it worked on the wrong colour.
Currys is selling the black version for £159 with stock in my area:
currys.co.uk/gbu…tml

Jessop also priced match although they took 2 days to respond
Great price for a great lens! Works fantastic on my a6000
