Indeed; but don't let your logic stop there I assume you also argue that now bicyles/taxis/trains/buses/planes are so good why bother with cars... etc

No I wouldn't argue that. As someone said above, I was trolling, well, actually just harmlessly joking (hence the fish and fishing rod emoji) and my comment was aimed at people who actually believe that DSLRs/bridge cameras or any other digital camera system arent needed any more as phones have cameras (of which there seem so many people who actually believe this and comment as such in these threads). I actually have a DSLR kit, that admittedly doesn't often get used these days, but it's still an excellent bit if kit, and still as relevant now as the many years ago I bought it, I just don't find the time to dedicate to it.

ok.... no bites from the eco warriors.
Heat added, good price if you're after that lens but you probably shouldn't be unless you're a pro !
This is an amazing lens, heat added.
The portraits you could take with this would be exquisite.
Don't forget an additional 2% quidco cashback as it comes under the electronics section... Every little saving helps

The law of diminishing returns! You can take amazing photos with a complete kit costing less than that lens and 99/100 people you show your photos to won't be able to see a difference.

In saying that, I'm one of the mugs who spends far too much on camera gear !!!

Personally I couldn't care if other people can see the difference.
As long as I can then it's worth it.

It's not a pro Lens, the pro version of the Lens from Sony is around 2k.
