Great price for an amazing Smartwatch. I purchased this for £190 when it came out last year and am still impressed with it.

Battery life is brilliant - Can easily get two days of use and only takes around one hour to fully charge. Also one of the few smartwatches with GPS built in, meaning you can go running without having to take your phone with you.

Its also IP68 rated, so no worries about it getting submerged in water.

Full specs can be seen here >> sonymobile.com/glo…ns/

If you're looking for a smartwatch, cant recommend this one enough.

You need a smartphone anyway, and considering a Nokia 3310 makes and receives calls I doubt you see the need to have a smartphone.

Get told off every time I go running on the motorway
Although it has 4/5 stars on amazon, some of the reviews are pretty scathing. I want a smart watch, but think I'll wait a little longer for the tech to mature and prices to come down further.

I got mine for £98.64 via bespoke offers and an extra 15% via (£15.54) topcashback. So that's £83.10 if the cash back is payed.

Prices won't be coming down any time soon for newer tech. This is a good price, though has been cheaper, for a decent smartwatch. Many of the poor reviews are poor themselves, 'the metal on the strap may cause irritation'. 'Sony CS did not want to know'. One of them clearly had not installed Android Wear on their phone and gave the watch a kicking because she couldn't get notifications.

Had it for 2 months and really pleased with it. Twitter, email, texts and call notifications come straight through. The voice recognition is brilliant. Lots of free watch faces available. GPS is spot on (problems were related to sweating and causing reading error), lots of running/fitness trackers now working, music via bluetooth headset (have a Mocreo box from Amazon enabling any headphones to be used).

How have you got around the sweat issue?
markdavey1972

How have you got around the sweat issue?

Only do a couple of miles every other day running, then 5-10 cycling the other days. Neither gets me sweating like Camerons girlfriend so never had an issue.
lime green is £100 through bespoke offers
I just ordered one through bespoke too. Offer came back at £97, but also a theoretical 18% quidco - hopefully takes it down to around £80
I have this watch and I bloody love it. Just got a new BB8 Star Wars watch face haha.
the navigate tool is brilliant. I use mine whilst driving.
I was utterly disappointed with mine when it came earlier this year, and have never had the gps work independent of a phone.
That said, every update has improved the battery life and usability, and it is now pretty serviceable. I would like to use endomondo, but if anyone can recommend any runninc/cycling app that logs without a phone, I would be interested to hear about it.
Was really liking mine as a stand alone device (music / GPS).... But GPS is very on and off recently, shame, I am not even getting all sweaty which apparently is a possible reason, just going for long walks.

When it works its great, hopefully they can solve it.
what happens to these if the strap gets damaged?

It pops out easily (towards the wrist so not whilst wearing) so you can just get a new strap
I was strongly inclined to get one but some people complain that connecting the microUSB charging cable is fiddly. It it a real problem or just something you need to develop a knack for?
thanks

I have this watch and really like it but it's rubbish as a standalone GPS tool, no offence but to imply getting the best result out of a fitness tracker you need to sweat less is one of the daftest things I've ever heard

Yes but if you do sport and dont want to lug a phone around, then this has gps and 4GB of music plus the battery lasts longer than all the other smart watches on the market. I use it with ghostracer which syncs with strava. I was preparing to be disappointed but Ive been impressed.

Ive never had a problem with the gps, and Ive gone to areas where my Sammy S3 struggled. Ive compared it to my mates garmin and whilst it isnt as good its not too far off and its £400. From the research I have done ghostracer is the best at logging activity, not sure if thats because the gps sample rate is higher that the other apps.

Those people are reviewers who have only used it for a day or two. After a couple of weeks, getting the micro usb in takes no more than a couple of seconds. If plugging the charger into your phone doesn't bother you, then this won't either. Plus the benefit of micro usb over a proprietary charger (Moto 360) is huge - forget to charge it? Easy to find a compatible charger at work/in your car/wherever.
Only issue I've had with mine is when using it at the Gym, after finishing I put my phone in my bag and went for a shower. Somehow the water activated the watch and music starts loudly from my bag. Has happened twice.

Overall I much prefer mine to my previous LG G Watch R. (I don't like round, I prefer the micro USB port for charging cradles are annoying to remember to grab)

Those who complain about being unable to plug a micro USB into a micro USB port really shouldn't be let out in public. Lift cover, plug in. That's it.

I did wonder if the complaints were unreasonable. However, I have a smartwatch 1, came as a bundle, I don't use it any more, didn't use it very long. It has a strange and quite annoying charging connector which didn't help me want to use it.

Not worn a watch for years, got his for £80 after amazon offer + Quidco + Beat My Price and only take it off to charge up. Found it really useful. I too got a Smartwatch 1, holder broke after a week and it's in a drawer.
