Perhaps not the prettiest of the Android Wear watches, but certainly the most practical and future-proofed, with GPS built in, micro USB charging, a reflective display for good daylight visibility and properly waterproof.

Also the metal strap version just came out, but with that retailing at £199+ it'll almost certainly be cheaper to buy this at £131 and the metal strap separately when it releases in he near future, plus you'll have the bonus of both a sporty and a smart strap. Alternatively there's also going to be the holder that adds lugs for any 44mm strap which will be handy.

This is the best price I've seen on this outside of very infrequent Amazon lightning deals and occasional ebay listings. It's a time limited Groupon with 2 1/2 days left at time of posting.

And yes, it's not an Apple Watch. Neither is it a Rolex, a space shuttle, or a fish. Still a good smart watch though.

Tempting but had terrible luck with Sony products in the past.

Fair enough, though I would say that I only went for this one myself after my Brother in law (an extremely heavy gadget/internet user) assured me he was still very happy with his one, having had it since November. It also has good reviews on Amazon. I think Sony is a case of a company so big that it can easily have both terrible and exceptional products and services and everything in between.

Just a quick note for anyone who has purchased facer to add designer (and other) watch faces - I found the notifications stopped working after changing using facer. Fixed by restarting the watch after new face was installed. Took me ages to work out that this app was the issue.

On the fence about this, noticed that only 13 have sold when the deal was posted and no more have sold since.

Good price. I really wanted to like this watch - but I couldn't get on with it but I think that is more to do with smart watches / android wear in general. It is a bit of a pain to charge as the socket is tricky to get into. I liked the reflective screen that allows you to see the time without turning on the backlight. I got 2 days battery out of mine - but I turned off the vibrate as it was pretty disruptive / irritating. For the right person - I think this is probably as good as many of the others out there.

That is a bit odd... in fact I'm pretty sure that it was reading 13 sold before I ordered mine this morning, so perhaps something is awry with the counter. It actually started on Groupon a couple of days ago - I was busy on the day I got the email and forgot to look at it, then was disappointed when I thought I'd missed it. When I came to look for it this morning I couldn't find it browsing through Groupon goods, only when I googled "Sony smartwatch Groupon", so that could be another explanation for the poor take up. Who knows? Maybe everyone is just waiting on the fruity watch.

My father has lent me his for a few days to see if I like the whole smart watch concept. I must admit that I'm finding it far more useful than I thought I would. Quick access to notifications is great, and so is being able to set alarms and reminders with Google now. I'm keeping my phone in my pocket a lot more now, which is a good thing. All that capability can be distracting! I'm also enjoying designing my own watch faces. It's surprisingly easy.
