i had the floorstanders of these, and they sounded fantastic! seemed slightly cheaply made though. i would assume these are similar.

AHHH i would have got these if i had not already got my kef c1's delivered! and just last week too!

I would imagine the Kef's would blow these out of the water!

Still a good price though if you need some cheapish speakers for a bedroom or something.

Brilliant, just brought a Sony AV, these were just what I was after! Now should I order 1 set or two.... hmmm!

the sonys are better than they get credit for. AV snobs generally dont like sony speakers for some reason.

As an AV snob (sort of), Sony used to do some really great HiFi at all price ranges. But this had a lot to do with them covering all prive ranges which would mean the tech that went into their top end stuff had a trickle down effect on the rest of the Sony range. They dont really do any top end any more (and havent for years really) so the trickle down has stopped and its much more budget designe and manufacture now for all Sony kit. Get some sencond hand Sony gear if you want to really cheap but really good bargins if you ask me, not the new stuff.

Got mine today and wow, they sound stunning, I can't possibly imagine how a used set would sound better..... I also have some warfdale speakers that are 5 years old that my dad gave me and apparently cost a fortune and the sonys kill them. I think modern technology and competition has helped keep quality high and the price down.... personally am well chuffed

would these be ok for a laptop do u think?

i had those. The sound was fantastic. i ordered from amazon too, only reason i dont have them now is mine arrived with a tear in one of the cones and it was the last set they had at the time. I ended up getting wharfedale diamond 9.4. And though the wharfes look better they dont really sound any better. Only gripe i had with the sonys was the finish, on the bottom were 2 plastic wedges, no actual feet as such so didnt sit quite right on carpet. can be sorted of course with some granite or spikes from ebay.
one more word of advice, dont listen to anyones advice on these sony speakers if they havent heard them. they really are excellent for the money.

Some **** bought the last 18 pairs, a bit selfish but hey that's "business" I suppose.
