Thanks. It did go OOS. Seems to be back now though.
Word of warning,

I tried purchasing 2 of these earlier in the year, one worked fine and is in use now here, the other was very faulty and had to be returned and the replacement that I got was also faulty, both different software/firmware based faults, but the customer service experience was not great, and they always initially try to make the support at the customers inconvenience in a number of ways.

I have had many of these lines of Sony AV Amplifiers, from the 1030, 1040, 1050, 1060 skipping the 1070 to now have one working 1080 and the other in the air in the middle of its return procedure.

In conclusion I feel that the refurbishment process by these Sony Centres not to be adequate currently, and they need to check the settings carefully, before certifying them refurbished.

Do what you will with this information, you may be luckier than I

The other thing to point out is that the current refurbished stock is much more expensive at £429 which you can see at this link - centresdirect.co.uk/p-2…spx
Using the old link above is confusing and looks like it is £279 but you cannot click through to purchase, it is now in fact £429 I think

I have always liked these amps but the 1080 seems to be less reliable software and firmware wise than previous models, the amp menu is overly dominant, popping up instead of waking to its previous state and input, which needs a firmware update but isnt forthcoming, since the end of 2018 there hasn't been a firmware update

Hope this helps, you need to be prepared for fiddly stuff on this bargain

Good luck
