I've personally used these speakers in my current house. But moving house soon and agreed to leave the surround sound installation behind.
I paid £2100 for the speakers and subwoofers last time round, then more on top for AV receiver. After a quick nosey, found this deal. So going to risk the wrath of the missus by buying them again.

When you combine the DN1080 with the T305's you make significant savings. Not only that but we'll also include 40 metres of Speaker Cable and a 3 metre Subwoofer cable too

Sony STR-DN1080 AV Receiver Key Features

  • High Resolution-Audio compatible
  • Quality surround sound with Dolby ATMOS and DTS:X support
  • 6-in/2-out HDMI connectivity with 4K/60p (4:4:4)5 pass-through, HDCP 2.2 support and HDR support
  • Easy Bluetooth connectivity with NFC One-touch
  • Wi-Fi, Airplay and Chromecast built-in for music streaming
  • 165W per channel power output
  • 4K Ultra HD and HDR compatible
  • Chromecast built-in

KEF T305 Speakers
As one of the world’s thinnest high performance home theatre systems, the new T Series combines several landmark innovations: a radical new ultra-low profile bass and midrange driver, and a large, fully vented new tweeter.

Instead of a cone, the radical new twin-layer bass and midrange unit has a flat diaphragm whose rigidity throughout the frequency range is maintained by very fine stiffening ribs, with the driver as a whole acting as a stressed member to help eliminate any unwanted resonance from the slim cabinet.

The generous size of the sophisticated new 25mm (1in.) vented tweeter specially developed for the T Series allows exceptionally accurate reproduction, especially of the human voice. And silken, effortlessly pure high notes. The clarity is outstanding, even played loud.

KEF’s unique ‘tangerine’ waveguide helps to disperse the sound image evenly throughout the room. The combined effect is remarkable: you find yourself immersed in a dense three-dimensional sound picture that completely engages you with what’s happening on screen.

Everything about the new T Series has been designed from first principles to achieve a sleek, unobtrusive look that matches the styling of modern TVs while still maintaining the high standard of audio fidelity KEF is famous for.

It’s a significant amount of money but for those really into their sound and home cinema I can imagine this is an awesome deal - personally I listened to these at a friends and truly wow!

I replaced rear 2 with ceiling speakers, if I take them out I've got to fill walls and re paper. Then fill 170mm circular holes in ceiling and artex etc.
Can't be bothered with hassle.

I'm renting house out to a friend, so they have a nice shiny surround sound.

Still there if I ever want to take it out

That will produce better sound. Flat speakers aren’t quite as good.

I'd be very careful about disclosing you own more than one property and rent places out, the revolutionary types will accuse you of exploitation and suggest you're a slum landlord

I have this combination - it's a good partnership, the Sony is well-suited to driving these KEFs (I used to have a Denon AVR that was too laid back) and the KEFs are great for discreet wall-mounting. Good deal, about the same that I paid for just the speakers a few years ago.
great price.

These T series are brilliant. I use the T101's for rears in my setup and they are excellent.
Does this have atmos ?
What is an equivalent model which is just as good but cheaper
Isn’t this cheaper purchasing separately , the amp is around 430 and the speakers around 800£ or is that a different model
Great price. I have the kef egg 3001 system and still love the sound out of that when I crank it up. Love the design of these though. Heat
Looks like you're basically getting the AV receiver free, currently £429 @ Richer Sounds.
Hi guys. Just want to swap my soundbar for 2 floorstanding speakers + 1 central speaker. Do I need av receiver or stereo amplifier? I want to connect speakers to tv via optical cable and be able to play music on them via bluetooth from my mobile. Thanks.

Yeah agreed. I love my t301's. Look nice wall mounted next to my TV, so bought this set for the new house. Cant wait to get it all done now

Are the model numbers the same as this deal? That should answer your question.

The AVR has Wifi, but I'm assuming you mean the speakers aren't wireless? That's a good thing, you wouldn't want higher-end AV equipment using wireless speakers.

Depends on how you mount your speakers, I personally raggle them all into walls, enclose in plastic conduit and skim over with plaster. I'll just buy a letterbox frontplates for them exiting wall behind TV unit.

Yes you require additional speakers for Atmos I believe
So tempted. Thinking of selling the Sony amp and using the speakers with my Denon 2400.

I had 2 ceiling speakers in my current setup, run the cables up behind shelves I made and under upstairs floors
they are also kef, around 175mm wide holes.

This time around, I will just use the t301's.
Cables under the floor and raggle up to the rear speakers

its work, but its worth it tbh
How often does a deal like this come around on this kef package? There's nothing on hukd like this, so wondering if anyone knows?

We are building an extension that these would go great in but it's not going to be ready for 6months and the wife would see this as a very low priority right now.

I spent £2.5k on these about 3-4 years ago, now they come with a pretty decent av receiver as well for £1650, for me it was a no brainer. I got moaned at when I got home from work, but I'm not fussed, I watch at least a movie and a few games of footie every week on my surround sound

Not completely related but peter Tyson is doing Bose sound bar 300 + sub woofer+ couple of bundle speakers for 1199.

I agree AV +5.1 sound system is entirely different ball game but how does it compare to Bose package? I am also looking for home cinema system and confused whether to get 5.1 system with wiring etc or go with Bose wireless option. What’s your opinion? Thanks
@beard7 when I got mine, I was getting an extension built so they sat in the box for a few months. The KEFs are designed to be wall-mounted and if you can get the speaker cable routed for them as part of your build (like I did), they look great "floating" on the wall. Don't forget to route extra cable in the ceiling for Atmos speakers - I didn't :(.
@coullgfx@Loada Thanks guys, it does seem a great deal. Hopefully I can swing it on needing the speakers to get the cables positioned correctly 😁. Ah and thanks for the Atmos reminder I will make sure to run the cables.

How do speakers look mounted for atmos . And with each speaker you need a power source right and also the cable to run to the amp ... how are you running power from the the atmos speakers will you see the powecablea ? I wanted limited cables appearance
How would a Denon avrx2400h compare to this sony amp?

Think it's pretty similar tbh. I came across the Denon first. But just felt sony seemed to get a little more love from reviews. Also feel a Sony will look slightly more fitting with a playstation on the unit haha
This worth the money or ott for a first setup ?
