Quoted from another user

I've got got the Moto 360 and Sony Smartwatch 3 and I'd suggest:

Moto 360
Positives
- very smart
- loads of stunning community made watchfaces available in the WatchMaker app, look amazing on that almost zero bezel screen
Negatives
- processor is ancient, so can be laggy plus not so future proof
- battery life is terrible if you're a heavy user
- screen is never alwyas on (even with ambient mode)
- doesn't feel like a watch to wear while doing the DIY!

Sony Smartwatch 3
Positives
- feels tough, I never feel I need to take it off to protect it
- great for sport - you can track swimming and running with it
- screen is always on and completely readable in sunlight, so great for digital info-filled watchfaces
- battery should last the day without stressing
Negatives
- not very 'dressy' feeling, optional stainless steel strap is virtually impossible to buy
- shaped like an Apple Watch, so prepare to answer the inevitable question....
- if you like reproduction watchfaces, they don't look great due to the large Bezel and square screen.

tl;dr: If you like bling get the Moto 360, if you value practicality and tech get the Sony SW3....

I'm wearing an LG Watch Urbane, all android wear watches are exactly the same software wise and it's great.

Is it working with An iPhone ?

How you like your Urbane Matt? I was thinking about it but i got iPhone and they dont work properly

Bought mine for £75 as I have a freebee £10 from amazon and their birthday tenner for a spend over £50. I was just going to try it and if it was rubbish was going to send it back.
I use it as a gps for mountain biking and have found it pretty good far better than my mates apple watch at > three times the price.

So Strava doesnt work with standalone gps so just use ghostracer which uploads to Strava ( peronally this is Strava being pants I have told them this). Google seems to have broken the ability to download music, but personally I found it a bit crap anyway as the music had to be on google music ( are google the new apple! ) anyway wearmedia fixes this and its as it should be you can downlaod anything form the phone (would be nice if it was pc, also doesnt like flacs)

If you are a golfer vimogolf does swing analysis, its a great little app.

Alerts work over bluetooth and any wifi network.

The battery does take a battering if using GPS, I have used it for three hours in the morning but didnt turn off bluetooth and it was still running but was dead by evening.
Hope this helps someone.

It's a bit hit and miss, this first I had regularly dropped connection to my S6 Edge but this one is better, however this one has a little screen burn-in and the other didn't. I like it, but if it's not 100% reliable then I don't see the point!

Does the item have to be available at John Lewis online for them to price-match? I can't find the SmartWatch 3 on the JL site.

Great watch, great deal too! If you get it (or any other Android Wear) I recommend downloading Watchmaker and getting over to the Google Plus page or FaceRepo. Currently designing a few faces myself and they're all free!

ordered this watch

I have a Samsung s5 so presumably that will work well?

Also any tips/guides I should know to get me started.
Thanks

No, I don't care for watches much and haven't had any kind of watch for years, but I'm a presenter and need one for work I'm increasingly doing. I like smart rather sport, otherwise the G Watch R is apparently identical.

Don't forget to download some epic games from the play store type in android watch games. Obviously classics like tetris and space invaders. :DOh and have fun. Best gadget bought to date. No phone allowed in work!!!! but watches are. Nice to see updates from friends and family throughout the day.

just checked 10mins ago and now its seems they must have acquired new stock as the delivery option and order and collect from your local store is available now.

however o2 shop online has this on offer nearly £10 cheaper.
