4K Ultra HD with HDR
Enjoy the best quality entertainment with a Sony UBP-X500 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player. Movies, shows and more are displayed in exceptional 4K Ultra HD quality. From explosive blockbusters to engrossing nature documentaries, whatever you're watching will leap off the screen. You can watch Blu-rays, DVDs, and you can even plug in a USB stick and watch a range of other file formats.
The UBP-X500B supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) TVs, enhancing the colours of what you're watching to give greater realism and a richer viewing experience.

4K Ultra HD Upscaling
With 4K 60p upscaling, you can experience all your favourite non Ultra 4K DVDs and Blu-rays in four-times the detail. This technology introduces new detail and simulates a 4K Ultra viewing experience.

Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
With Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, you can experience sound in a 3D field when you connect the X500 4K Blu ray Player to a compatible sound bar or multi-room home theatre kit.
Dolby Atmos and DTS:X make sounds appear to freely move around you - you'll feel like you're at the movies. Hear more from the sides, in front and even above. Be a part of the moment as cars rush past, storms rage and special effects fill the air.

HDR to SDR converter
If your TV doesn?t have HDR capability, don?t worry, Sony?s unique algorithm allows the player to adjust your HDR content through to your non HDR TV. Enhancing your TV?s picture levels and delivering greater picture quality.

Slim design and convenient features
With its slim design and minimal black colour, the UBP X500 easily fits into your home set up. It's simple to place around your home, and it won't stand out either. The UBPX500 offers convenient features such as ultra-fast start up, auto standby and child lock.

Supporting a broad range of formats.
Aside from being a Blu-ray discs and DVD player, the UBPX500 can also play a broad range of video and music content, including SA-CD, DSD, USB, m2ts, mp4, mkv, mov, VP9, FLAC, WAV, ALAC and AIFF.

What's the diff with X700

Think the X700 supports Dolby Vision and built in wi-fi.
I picked up a refurb X700 from Sony Centres direct, excellent player. 4k discs look stunning.
Plays every format I have thrown at it, and it streams very well.

I'd be interested to know as no 3D would be a deal-breaker for me

No Dolby Vision
The Co-operative website had these for £119 which comes down to £109 with the MAR10 coupon (and possibly £2 Quidco cashback). I was going to post a deal but I appeared to have bought the last one.

Might come back in stock though.
