This laptop has a truely MEGA spec for the price (see below). next cheapest around £1172ish online and in sony stores they go for £1368.99 so this is like less then 100 quid upgrade from the AW11M which has less graphics memory, less HD space, is not glossy black like the S and is not FULL HD 1080. BARGAIN.

Please post if found cheaper as I just ordered it!

Sorry what do you mean by this? Are you implying this is an OTT purchase? If you do a little looking around the market you'll find that the technology in this laptop should serve me well for the next 4 or so years at least and I can vouch for Vaio reliabilty I have 2 One is nearly 9 years old and still fine for browsing web, word procesing, dvd watching etc. At the time dvd players were rare in laptops, the next vaio I bought in 04 when dvd writers were uncommon, now blu-ray recorders are rare it will be more than worth the slight premium in price for longevity and build quality

I would say however that the top end £2500+ AW Vaio is for people who are not at all price sensitive (i.e. have not heard of the credit crunch)

Dispatched now hopefully they'll honour it.

They honoured it, I'm very...very happy! You can have two web browsers open side by side on the screen (saves you tabbing between programs) And the 2.1 in built speakers are awesome! Also has a full numeric keypad and a nice little fingerprint sensor and runs very quietly.

Few things though:

Doesn't come with much software

The AWs are big and heavier compared to most notebooks on the market so think if mobility is a priority ... this might not be the one to go for (go for Mac Book Pro if you don't need blu-ray) but it's ideal if you are a dreamweaver/photoshop person as it is still a portable piece of equipment.

Because of the huge screen the touchpad is bigger...but it can get annoying having to use your finger to navigate around a large screen...so a mouse would be a wise investment.
