You wouldn't say that to his/her face....
Not a bad price for a vaio just a shame the hard drive is so small
They had this deal in my local Sainsburys (Norwich Pound Lane) and I picked up the last boxed one. The i5 version was on display at £379, but they didnt have any.
hot deal
so is the price £349.99 or £379??
is this one or the i5 which cost £370 HD? I mean if these can play the HD movies and streams ?
it says HD but that is just words the resolution is 1366x768 which is ****

there's gonna be more of these "deals" around (remember posting i3 lenovo for £315 few weeks back) as the retailers are trying to get rid of old stock.

new school year + arrival of Ivy Bridge i3-equipped laptops = laptops like these will get even cheaper.

what makes you think it wouldn't? eg. 1080p fullHD would just be rescaled to fit HD screen, that's all.

I just played that timescapes movie in 2560x1440 resolution on HD2000 iGPU on 1080p screen and the PC didn't make any unusual noises.
I really confused. why my old laptop which I have now makes giq giq noises when I play BBC1 which is HD on catchup. that's way last month I bought the Sony VAIO i5-2450M+500GB HD+4GB RAM+NVIDIA 1GB

Your text here

it made same noises and I returned.

I think you mean that high pitch (Squeeky) noise that modern discreet graphics in laptops make when under load. Perfectly normal.

I got that laptop from ebuyer a couple of weeks ago, it's a great machine and the Intel HD 4000 graphics is surprisingly good for the odd game.

Just kidding
That i5 from Sainsburys looks very tempting, any thoughts on the spec from people who knows such things? Best to wait a little longer for i7 sandybridge to drop more?

HDD size is probably the strangest spec.
Otherwise it seems ok. £379 + quidco is pretty cheap for a laptop with a good keyboard. The Lenovos are also good.
