NOT worth the money, you pay for the brand not the spec. Not better than msi, acer or toshiba. You get a much better laptop for the same money. I think it's a cold deal

It will be a 2 year warranty is buying from M and S. Agree with the above you do a bit more for the brand and its not worth it! Cold

Well would you guys like o post an equivalent from another brand?

I bought this laptop from Dell outlet yesterday , with my experience of VAIO's the DELL will be alot better.

Dell outlet this, Dell outlet that, people are obsessed on here with that place! X)

Dell's quality is well down on what it used to be, and while the spec might not be much different the Sony Vaio are of better build quality. Plan on picking up one of the 10" screen versions soon.

My past experience with a Dell XPS 15 has put me off using Dell ever again!

I'm using my Vaio VGN-Z55 that the OP posted previously and can't fault it. This deal isn't quite as good but isn't bad, have some heat.

whats with all the Sony bashing? I own this laptop, and its the best laptop I have ever bought, in terms of build quality. I've had plenty of laptops, the last Dell I bought was the XPS M1330, and that had so many problems with it - had to have it repaired 3 times and the damn thing still will eventually fail due to the faulty nvidia 8400gs graphics chip.

I own an Acer Aspire 5735 which I paid around £420 abt 1.5yrs ago, I know its a budget laptop and the build quality reflects this. The screen is crap, the keyboard is flimsy and just feels like cheap poor quality plastic.

I've owned loads of laptops since I got my first toshiba satellite pro over 10 years ago, and nothing I've owned comes close to this beast. Voted Hot.

I know, as if the outlet wasn't slow enough as it was now there's loads more people checking every day lol. X)

For that price where's the SSD drive

any idea if there are cheep Vaio VGN-Z55

Sony are definitely a good laptop brand - but even so you'd hope for a little better than 330M graphics and maybe a blu-ray writer at this price.

Try here and go to clearance and click on Z series. They are showing as being 'Temporarily out of Stock' but the Order button is showing so it may still be possible to put in an order!

You are wrong! Sony Vaio are the best laptops.

People aree talking rubbish. Sony are nice laptops, BUT, they are not superior to other equipment in a general sense. You;ll pay more for the same. And while they do not go wrong perhaps as often as Dell units might, Dell actually fix things, and make an effort and do so in reasonable time. In fact, Dell IMHO seem to try and go extra miles in helping and trying to fix things. Sony - pah, you could wait months for a repair, and their support don't care. High priced box shifting at its worst.

Some of the worst support and repairs around. By all means get a Sony, just hope it never goes wrong.

And Sony never goes wrong! My Sony Vaio served 5 years without problems and still working, when my friends Dell has to be repaired 5 times: WI-FI gone first, then graphics card, then hard drive, then screen has lost contact, then keyboard gone.
This is the same as you were buying Audi or Skoda.

My experience is that although more expensive, Sony are more reliable and have far better build quality than the other brands mentioned here.

Anyone know the model number of the bag? I already got this laptop from John Lewis but am hunting around for a suitable bag... thanks..

Just ordered £899 + £9.99 delivery - 2% quidco = £891 from Laptops Direct

I found all the other laptops have that annoying glossy screen and I want to use this laptop for work, the rest would make me appear ammaturish and the F series looks more professional.

You have to compare apples with apples - only mention a better F series deal or theres no contest - that Dell from the outlet didnt even have a full HD display. People cant compare with outlet/clearance where someone has opened the laptop, perched it next to their sweaty b******s and after picking their nose and sticking their fingers everywhere you decide to buy it.
