i have wireless keyboard and mouse and only have to change them at most twice a year and i use them alot

STILL NOT CHEAP....

its just a dual core with basic specs.........

worse thing about these all in one jobbies, if u need a new board or psu , u might as well bin it, as the spares are horrendously priced......... expect to pay £ 200 + for a sony psu ( and yes, nothing else will fit )

yes, nVidia GeForce 8400M GT GPU, they overheat! i have one in my vaio laptop same version, and when i play games it sometimes reachs 80C, 64C idle! you can google and see. otherwise a nice deal!

Its this thats bothering me: "Non-returnable under our Approval Guarantee once installed or connected"

I paid twice this a couple of years ago when it first came out and it is great and has pride of place on our coffeee table. The mouse needs the batteries replacing every couple of months and the keyboard once every 6 months.

hmm looks overpriced to me but then i guess your paying a premium for a all in one system

I've got the VGC-LM1M and its the best PC i've owned. Quiet fast and very reliable.

im sure shops cant do this. distance selling should overrule this, but when they have your money, the ball is in their court no matter what the law is.

With regs to the deal, its a lovely machine, just like buying a laptop to be honest. More of a fashion icon than a performance pc, but it will still work nicely.

Good find.

It is cheap for a Sony with a reasonable spec, but any potential buyers should make sure that there is some form of decent warranty available.

price seems good to me and the sony are a slick design..

I'm fairly sure this violates your statutory rights.

If you want to downgrade it to XP, Sony absolutely f-ing suck. I had to do a Vaio and their online site accepted my serial and that but said there was a problem with my details. Not what but just that there was. After a ton of hunting I managed to find out on a forum what the MB was so I could find the SATA drivers to install XP otherwise it can't see the SATA drive (and the bios is so locked down you can only change the boot order and the time). Had I not had a USB floppy, this wouldn't have worked. In short, if you want XP on it, avoid Sony. Decent TVs and audio, horrid PCs.

I have one of these from BC (well 2 actually, I bought one before the voucher was issued and will return it) it is superb.

Fast, quiet, good sound and the only wire running into it is one mains lead.

The box had never been opened and was brand new, I can only assume they got hold of them due to the rumour/fact that Sony are shutting all their stores.

It is the only computer that I have ever bought that I have just plugged it in, let it set itself up and then get straight into it.

I BELIEVE that your rights are not violated RE; the returns rule, because it is a memory storage device. Argos do the same.

Everyone who has seen this PC/ TV/ thingy has said how good it looks.

A very nice piece of kit.

Good deal, nice processor, not as overpriced as I've seen Sony to have been before, still not the cheapest but I wouldnt say this is actually any bad at all

the 8400M isnt really a gaming card although you could get away with some things

nice..

If you do a clean install there should be few problems getting XP onto the LM1E, but to be honest as it's designed for Vista and comes with media centre (and i presume a remote and tv tuner like the LM1M) there would be little reason to downgrade to XP as it's designed as a living room PC.

They are saying if you take it out of the box and use it then decide you dont like it you cant return it under there approval guarantee which is 14 days, you can still cancell under the DSR within 7 days

Cold imo. Yep ok so it isn't easy to compare this to rival products but it's price is well above the sum of its parts, and the 19" screen is a detriment for a "media centre" PC, especially in this 22-24" day and age and that's even with many standard PC's. This explains why it's well reduced from RRP, but to be HOT!! it'd need to be around the £350 mark, im not a label snob so 'VAIO' doesn't add any value for me...just my opinion :P

But yer Mike I appreciate all your deal posts

You need to add the SATA driver or the XP installer will not see the hard drive (as XP is pre-SATA). However Sony doesn't make this easy to find, if at all.

How long does the delivery take?

Delivery says up to 14days, I got mine in 3.

Ok thanks, although 14 days is quite a long time to wait, hopefully i will get mine in 3 days too?
