Wtf walkmans still exist?

Perfect for listening to music while running or at the gym.
I have these, awesome for swimming with (dont need your phone with you).

Paid a lot more than this.
Would be decent... If I had any MP3s left!

A device like this they could download from Spotify would be great!

"Don't need your phone with you"

Oh, how I wish these walkmans were made compulsory in my local gym! So many gym users find it the norm to log onto Facebook etc....
I have the older model of these and they have been brilliant for running and the gym. Very lightweight and good battery life. The sound isn't bad either considering the size of the device, it's not like you need pro quality audio when you're working out anyway.
Had these for nearly 2 years now (previosuly had older model but it broke) and use them on a daily basis. The most convenient mo3 player I have never used! Perfect at the gym and work, while doing shopping or walking a dog. I just basically use this for everyrhing and this is like the cheapest I have seen it.
Recently I have started hearing occasional cracks in left earpiece, a perfect opportunity to refresh.
There was also a 'used acceptable' warehouse one for 34 but description mentioned damages such as cracks, etc. I have ordered both and will probably wait till they arrive and if warehouse one is in bad condition (they usually exaggerate), I will send it back or otherwose send the new one back. Thanks Op!
Been looking out for something like this.

Ordered, thanks
33265375-xhzjT.jpgLooks like their algorithm is fighting against another site by repeatedly dropping their price.
Edit: and still dropping. £42.96 now ..£42.95

I have an older Sony pair which I use while swimming. A bit quiet while in the water but otherwise good.

Thx Op ordered
I got the 8GB version in a lightening deal around black Friday 2016 I think for £60, but this is still a great price.

Highly recommend these - I've only used mine once actually as not been swimming much, but I used the older model which I still have (and still work fine) loads.

It's a life changing experience listening to your favourite music underwater. Seriously, if you swim, get these (or better yet the 8GB in a good deal).

I've got the older model. In your opinion is it worth upgrading to new one?

Cheers
These sound quite good once you disable AVLS, but they hurt my ears after a while. Shame as I would have definitely purchased it again at this price.

Previously I had that: W273
and it served me equally well I would say, but then it broke down. It's been a while but as far as I remember I would not say it is worth upgrading if your old one works fine. On the old one I had problems with connection sometimes (the pins in the charger sometimes didnt connect properly), this one seems better in that regard. Battery life is slightly better on this, but still not that great. Sound qualitywise they are comparable, but as I have not had a direct comparison between the two. Cant remember if the old one does, but this also has ambient play function, that allows you to hear more of the surrounding - it's sometimes useful, but I never leave it on because wind is annoying - and it's always windy in Scotland.
Having said that, this is a great price and if your old one is approaching end of its life, by all means go for it. But quite frankly other than the design there is not much to separate the two.

Thanks

Totally agree on that comment, swimming has never been equally pleasant!
I probably wouldn't upgrade the to the 4GB version from the old one - but if you go for the 8GB version it's worth it I'd say.

These new ones come with swimming earbuds.

I bought flanged ones for my old pair which worked well.

The new ones don't have flanged ear buds, but the swimming specific ones have a membrane/filter to keep the water out of the hole.
I did find water got in the old ones fairly often and I've have to tap the water out so I could hear the music again.

Ergonmically the old model is a little smaller and less bulky.

There's no ambient mode on the old model I think.

If you want to use these swimming, and go for the 8GB version on a good deal it's a good upgrade from the old model I'd say.
This seems to gradually increase the price and its now 44.92 - I think I hit the 'almost' sweet spot when purchased at 43.01 - almost because one user reported 42.95, so all 6p cheaper Guys grab this while you can you won't regret!!!
Ohh, there's now a 16GB version with bluetooth (pricey though!):
amazon.co.uk/Son…4P/

Hope that comes down in price some day.

Wonder if it'll work via bluetooth with a waterproof smart watch while swimming (or perhaps the water will break the connection).

Cheers. Yeah old one works fine. Found it poor for swimming with water getting in but now at a gym that doesn't have a pool so no huge loss. Will stick with old ones for now.
I have these, they are great. Bit of trial and error choosing the right size earbuds (they give you 4 different sizes I think) for the pool, but fine once you crack it. Makes swimming a lot more fun and got me through the Swimathon last year!
I have these. To repeat what everyone else has said they are good. Don't swim in them but nice to have peace of mind with the waterproofness when running in the rain! The ambient sound mode is a nice feature, mostly run on trails but switch this on when on single track roads...i wouldn't rely on it to stop u getting hit by a speeding car but u can hear when someone's behind u waiting to pass which is reassuring! For those who dont like to read the manual (ahem...me originally) note it has 3 ambient noise loudness settings so this can be tailored. I have about 10 albumwraps on there so is easier to pick different music without skipping loads of tracks

Betamax was superior to VHS. Panasonic just had better marketing
Down to £38.29 as of now.
