Have been waiting for these to drop and according to the camels this is as cheap as they have been new. I've missed out on the refurbs everytime so thought I'd better post this to hopefully help people out.

After reading loads of reviews it should be noted that these aren't for the gym / exercising as they aren't remotely waterproof.

Cheers

  • Industry-leading noise cancellation* to block out unnecessary ambient noise (*As of June 1st 2019. According to research by Sony Corporation, measured using JEITA-compliant guidelines in Truly Wireless style noise cancelling headphones market)
  • Up to 8H battery life per single charge + additional 3 charges from carrying case
  • Stable Bluetooth connection
  • Ergonomic Tri-hold Structure for secure fitting
Introducing the Sony WF-1000XM3 premium wireless noise cancelling headphones. Sony has taken the industry leading QN1 noise cancelling processor from their award winning WH-1000XM3 and updated it to a new QN1e, to produce the new WF 1000XM3. The brand new QN1e processor boosts the range of frequencies from which noise-cancellation occurs, giving you full control over the sounds you want to block out whilst listening to your music. That means it's never been easier to take the bustle out of travel and immerse yourself in sound. On top of that, the WF1000XM3 comes with Adaptive Sound Control to optimise listening settings automatically based on your behaviour and environment. The earbuds last for up to 8 hours on a single charge when not using noise cancellation, or 6 hours with noise cancellation. They come with a stylish portable carrying case, which will protect the earbuds when you’re on the move and give an additional three charges! And if you’re in a hurry, you can get 90 minutes’ use after just 10 minutes of charge. With the latest in Bluetooth technology, the WF1000XM3 can connect each earbud to your device individually. This allows for a more stable connection, with a faster response time meaning that your audio will sync perfectly with what you see on your device. Perfect for watching the latest show on your daily commute. Sony recommends you always update your devices with their latest available software. Software update notifications for WF-1000XM3, and the updates themselves, are delivered via the Sony Headphones Connect app, available free of charge on the Google Play and Apple App Store.

I'm no expert but thank you for the mention of the background research. It helps people like me
They’re £179 permanently at John Lewis with a two year warranty, so might be worth the extra £13 there. B+ from Cheapest Electrical is £137 until midnight tonight. Great pair, still wish I had mine.
For £21 extra you can get Amazon's warranty which is extremely good for damage and such
These, or Cambridge Audio Melomania 1? Anyone got experience of both? Edging towards the CA for price and sweat proofing. Never had noise cancellation before so doubt I would miss it.

Don’t do that, they are usually in awful condition. Heavily used customer returns, unless you get very lucky.

I already did, arrived in as new condition, I've researched the comments on previous deals and this seemed to be the norm. In any case should be better than pricier B+.

Mine were pretty much as new, box had a few external marks but inside nothing was used.
For this item specifically this is a great deal. There is no denying that.

However, with so many great sounding wireless earbuds on amazon for under £30 I just cant understand why anyone would pay so much for these.

Has anyone compared the sound of these to something like the Tronsmart or Enacfire buds from amazon?

I have so many headphones, and I am pretty impressed with the sound quality of the tronsmart spunk beats. However they do seem to have connection problems with some devices, but for £20 I can live with only using the headphones with my Fiio M11 and using other earbuds for my other devices.

The condition was fine but the call quality is awful and you cannot return for a refund unless it’s faulty. Their hidden terms and condition states in ear headphones don’t qualify for 14 days cool off period. I am struggling to return mine.

I compared the call quality during a commute in a bus and the background noise is atrocious.

Did the latest update and even tweaked the ambient sound feature but no luck

Had Melomania 1 for a day and send them back. For me they were too small falling from my ear and not very secure fit. Sound was good just wasn't impressed by them at all. Had Jabra 65T they were much better in every way especially noise isolation function do the job in the gym . I'm very tempted to try the new Jabras 75T. Swop Jabra for Bose Sound Sport free and the sound was just incredible! Best in the league .think I'm just fan of Bose unfortunately Bose are too bulky and they still have problems with connection as I already had then replaced by new pai r but they still loosing connection from time to time .
The Jaybird vista are my daily earphones at the moment and they are ideal. Great sound, waterproof, very light and long battery life. Small nice box. If they find them in promotion just buy one

Well, that's one of the reasons, I found the cheap ones were unusable at crowded places due to connection issues. They also tend to develop problems or break after few month' use. ANC is a great addition too.
I would prefer to spend less on headphones but couldn't find any suitable options at that price range.

Good point. I will have to find a way to test them out properly and compare them to my cheap earbuds. I do like Sony stuff generally but these are still quite expensive even at this price. Plus I am sure there will be plenty of aptx HD earbud coming out soon enough.

I ordered the Cambridge Melomania 1 from RicherSounds. It's incredible! On Cambridge Audios support webpage they had a new firmware upgrade which helped more with noise cancellation. I got the white ones so I don't easily loose it.

The Cambridge Melomania was only £99, free delivery and lasts 9 hours on a single charge. The case carries an extra 36 hours charge - it knocks out the Airpods Pro for the price!

They have volume control, (press and hold right earbud to increase volume and decrease with left earbud) and forward/rewind track with a single click. It comes with 4 different sizes of silicone tips including memory foam ones.

The only disadvantage is they make me look like Frankenstein on the tube to work , and may take time to get use to the fit in ears, but I bought it as it's also IPX5 Sweat and Water resistant, and the sound quality is amazing!

If you want a slight better quality then go for Jaybird Vista, but that's £60 more than the Cambridge Melomania 1.

Hi viks121,

The melomania don't have noise cancelling, certainly not active.

They have very good isolation which is very much dependant on the fit of the plugs but no active noise cancellation.

Cheers

I wear these in the office. The active sound cancelling is great for listening to music at low volume at my desk and blanking out the office noise. You don't get that on cheap earphones.

Don't have cheap earbuds to compare them too. Never had a connection issue with these though. They connect before I can get them out of the charger and in my ears, everytime without fail.

Yes still available on Costco for £155.98.

I love my headphones, DACs etc but for the commute and the gym I've been very impressed by the Anker Soundcore Life P2. AptX connection and superb sound. Push button as opposed to touch not ideal but I can cope. I recommend you get the foam tips (£9.20 a set of 3 on Amazon). You can pick these earphones up for around £35 if you wait for a promo. Sound great, waterproof, AptX and not the end of the world if you drop or lose them.
Edited by: "aerotec" 7th Feb
Thanks aerotec, wasn't sure they were still in in costco

Agree with you regarding the Anker soundcore, awesome sound for the price and ip rating but.... For overall sound and ANC.... Got to be these.
