Hoooooot
Lol! Was just posting this as my 3rd sony centres deal and it came up!!!
Returns, do you need to pay for them yourself?
These or the QC35 or the h9i? Thanks
Ordered a pair of these but they had to go back because they were faulty. Not sure how good their refurb quality control is but reluctant to reorder. I’d be interested to know how others have got on with Sony refurbs.

Mine were returned in person to the nearest Sony Centre so easy if you’re near to one.

If I remember correctly Sony did offer a free home pick up for free so you should be okay.

XM2 any time. A wonderful pair of headphones. Sound quality is amazing. Had this couple of weeks back when it was on sale. Loving it.
I'll be the controversial one then... QC35.

Absolutely stunning quality in every aspect.
these for sure
the MX2 were too heavy for me and gave me tension headaches. The MX3 are much better and lighter. However, the sound difference is not massive, and the noise cancelling only slighly better on the MX3.

Saying out of stock for me

Same here
Out of stock.
Oh my word... What a deal! - Shame I missed it. Let me know if they get stock again, only hear good things about these.
So actually when I tried black was out of stock, but gold was in and managed to order
Do they change the housing of these when they refurb? And just keep the electrical innards? Or do they just clean them up?

I don’t desperately need ANC although it’s nice to have. Any alternatives without ANC which are better for me considering the price?

Went qc35 myself, they’re lovely. But I’m sure these are great too and this is a great price and amazing if you get the 3 year warranty!
Sonys better than Q35 due to their being aptx built in. means less lag when connected via bluetooth. QC35s are slightly comfier, but they lack technology that is common in most premium headphones nowadays.
As someone who uses headphones for 9 hours a day, the QC35s are much better. Firstly Bose continue to support them regularly, Sony judt abandon their headphones. Secondly the Bose are way more comfortable, I couldn’t stand wear the 1000xs for very long. Thirdly my 1000xs
cracked and broke on the hinge, my Bose I’ve used for 2 years now and there are no signs of wear.

I also just think the Bose sound better, are less buggy and just control more smoothly and effortlessly with an iPhone.

As for APTX, I couldn’t hear a difference on my Android phone, but if you use an iPhone as well, it doesn’t support it so you don’t need to care.

I was was not impressed at all, mine are sitting broke in the attic now.

Hurm... I got mine an older model a second hand for 75 quid from ebay. Mdr100abn...anc not the best but decent enough if u r on the train that won't rock too much.. Been happy with it...but will possibly update to qc35 sometime in the future when the price is nicer to my poor wallet
if using on Android Oreo, don't forget you need to adjust default BT settings on you phone to APTX (HD) or even better LDAC if getting these. Android defaults to SBC for some reason.

Details here how to adjust the developer settings for Bluetooth in Android 8.0:
forum.xda-developers.com/gal…732

Of course you'll need the hifi audio files or Deezer/Tidal etc to hear the difference.

I've still got the first version of these and the sound is outstanding but v2 have APTX HD, so so tempted but will wait for now.

Heat added.
These headphones are superb.

Went into John Lewis and tried them against Sennheisers, Beats and QC35s. I was actually disappointed with the Bose set as that was what I went expecting to leave with. Nothing wrong with the noise cancelling but I thought the Sonys were much clearer and a bit heavier with bass.

I’d recommend these headphones as I use them everyday for almost a year with no issues !

Go away troll. Sony have an App that updates the firmware which still works with the first gen so stop talking crap.
i Sony'd these right now
I always miss this

I bought a refurb pair of these by phone when the website said they were out of stock. They were absolutely immaculate - indistinguishable from brand new except for the "refurbished" sticker on the box.

These without doubt. Had QC35 - these are better SQ.
I've got the XM3's buy highly reccomend these headphones!
Is there a point in upgrading from the first generation? Is there much benefit?
Anyone thinking about these or the QC35ii would definitely recommend these. Tried them both and whilst I’d say sound quality is the same the Sony’s are just so much more customisable with regard to EQ, how much you want the ANC to be active plus the controls are very intuative.

I ordered these from
Amazon where they had a slight price drop for 2 hours

Looking forward to getting them
I tried them in the shop and they sounded awesome! Early xmas present for me lol
I read reviews and also went in-store to test a load, nothing else even came close to these!
Is there a huge difference between these and the new MK3 ones apart from being half the price?
