Massive £10 saving...

It’s a saving, that’s what this site is designed for. Also many people might want some decent headphones for a flight so the airport is the perfect place to buy them.

It’s also quite disrespectful to the OP who has taken the time and effort to post the deal for others.

I don’t know why I posted. I should have just stay quiet like so many times in the past as it would avoid get into pointless arguement with strangers...
Awh... I posted about this price in another thread for these, didn't think of posting a deal.
Hot nevertheless!
Just paid £260 for these at John Lewis today with £30 trade in as I though Currys prices were higher according to the Heathrow website, thanks OP.

Pleased so far . The update for the headphone takes about 30 minutes and charge was around 75% out of the box.

Tempted to return these and buy at airport. Though I traditionally despise Currys customer service so wonder if I’m better paying the extra.

Heat either way.

LOL I used to be in your camp why would anyone buy a pair headphones over £30 forget £100.
But then I tried these in a semi noisy richer sounds. I put them on no music just the headphones and the room went silent. Not quiet, absolutely silent. You really have to try these to understand. Now I didn't buy them for 250 (I got refurbs from centres direct ) but I wouldnt knock anyone that does. I've had basic noise cancelling headphones from Sony and they don't do much these do what they say on the tin really really well.
Gotta say at first glance i thought u got the lot in the pic, and then saw its the cans. £10 savin? They are ott at that price for most people, but if u want to listen to music without bein bugged by hearin what else is goin on around u there good, but it is a deal for sum one with lets face it no money probs, as most people wont pay the price, that includs me, but its still a deal and better still other can send u to other places that may work out cheaper still and a £10 is still better in ur pocket that theres. Heat,
I managed to use my Currys vouchers here if you know where to buy them cheap.
New version out next month, not the greatest saving, so I'd personally hold off until Sept.

How do you know that? I can't find any articles talking about a Mark 3 version. Do you know any?

I was going to hold out. But I can't seeing them being that much better and the deals around on these at the moment are great.

I'd agree these ain't cheap, as I posted earlier I got the refurbs from centres direct for 190 (which were as new) with a 3 year warranty. When it comes to things like this I personally use reselling to fund the purchase.
Just don’t pay on a debit/credit card...
Discount double the difference??
So if a £200 product is £100 at other shops you will get it for free ?? :/
Mygatwick aslo have a £10 off £100 spend on headphones at Dixons travel so save yourself an extra £10 if flying from Gatwick.

Thanks. I found a reddit post detailing some of the new features on the M3s from an "accidentally" leaked document from Sony, the M2s cost about £330 for their first 6 months on amazon, so the M3s will probably cost circa £100 more than this offer, from what we know so far they seem to be a little bit of an upgrade, but not a huge one, depends if someone wants to spend £240 for this or circa £340 for the slighly improved features.

reddit.com/r/h…on/

"The Good news:

  • USB-C !
  • Much better battery charging. Now 10 minutes of charging gives 5 hours of extra battery, vs before where 10 min of charging gave 70 min of extra battery.
  • New MEMS microphone (which is theoretically more reliable), compared to the previous Electret Condenser mics. But only time will tell if this will translate into actual real-world improvements.
  • Lighter: 255 grams vs 275 grams for the previous model, which is now closer to the QC 35 II's weight of 235g.
  • Battery is still great: "When connecting via the Bluetooth device Music playback time: Max. 30 hours (NC ON), Max. 22 hours (Ambient Sound Mode), Max. 38 hours (NC OFF) Communication time: Max. 24 hours (NC ON), Max. 18 hours (Ambient Sound Mode), Max. 30 hours (NC OFF) Standby time: Max. 30 hours (NC ON), Max. 22 hours (Ambient Sound Mode), Max. 200 hours (NC OFF) When connecting via the headphone cable with NC ON: Max. 36 hours Note: Usage hours may be shorter depending on the Codec and the conditions of use."
  • Upgrade to Bluetooth 4.2 (from Bluetooth 4.1 on the earlier model), but sadly no Bluetooth 5.0 (see "So-So News" !)

The So-So news:

  • Still amazing battery life, one of the best in the industry. But the stated battery life on paper is slightly less (30 hrs vs 40 hrs), but I suspect this is simply a more accurate representation of the same battery life. I expect the battery life will be the same. It's confusing, because it's now rated at 8W, whereas before it was rated at 3W. Again, I think given the various combinations (Noise cancelling on/off, ambient sound etc), the previous specs were perhaps simply not accurate. I think the battery life will remain great, since it is still estimated to be 30 hours with noise cancelling, 38 hours with noise cancelling off.
  • No bluetooth 5.0 ! They've upgraded to Bluetooth 4.2 from Bluetooth 4.1 on the earlier model.

The Unknowns:

  • Simultaneous connections. This was one of the main shortcomings of the WH-1000XM2 (other than comfort) when compared to the Bose QC 35 II. With the Sony, you couldn't be connected to two devices simultaneously, UNLESS, one was connected via the media protocol and another via the communications protocol. I hope this has been addressed in the XM3. There was no way to know from the Reference Guide.
  • I'm not sure of this at all. But it "looks like" from the schematics on the manual that the shape of the cushions MIGHT be a bit improved. I hope that this is the case, as some users of the previous model found the fit not as comfortable as the Bose QC 35 II, but still mostly comfortable. We won't know until better images come out."

Actually it does. A huge difference. the noise cancellation on this is pretty unmatched by anything else including earplugs. I tired this in a busy airport shop in the middle east and was stunned by how everything just went quiet. I could actually listen to music without turning up the volume to ear destroying levels.

I am very happy to pay the asking price for the quality of noise cancellation and the actual audio quality as well. So are many other users on HUKD. Why would you want to put someone's post down if you don't actually care?

That's for the Sony MDR-1000X, the headband on them is know to crack after a few months. This model is slighly upgraded.

It is only a ten pound saving, virtually nothing compared to the price of the phones (£249.99) johnszi23 may have said it in a facetious way but we're adults here surely.

Personally I'm amazed that anything in Dixon's Travel is cheaper. They're bought by them VAT free but I've never found anything at all cheaper than UK prices, if you've got time to spare it's just another place to go to be flabbergasted at the high prices.
I'm not surprised they have a 'price match' scheme, pocketing the VAT

You mean 'you' not 'us', I don't think you can presume to be speaking on behalf of everyone who posts to ukdeals

Well, personally I think 4% is not worth quoting, 10% is more reasonable, but there are other factors. In this case, they should at least have removed the VAT (which they are not paying) and then taken off their measly £10

What about people that earn £200 an hour? (Not me) Would you think it’s strange to spend an hours wage on a pair of headphones? £200 might seem a lot to you but not everyone. Especially if they use them everyday for commuting ect
