Sony WH-1000XM2 Noise Cancelling Headphones - £280.57 (£50 cheaper) delivered at Amazon.de

These are £329 pretty much everywhere else, and have had good reviews as the best compromise between comfort, noise cancelling and sound quality compared to Bose, B&W, Sennheiser etc in this price bracket.

This was using Amazon's currency converter, if you have a conversion-free card then it might work out cheaper.

PS I did optimistically try adding the code GROSSEDANKE but it didn't work

Ah wish I'd known, back up to €360 there now and out of stock
These are best in class, i have the previous model and can't justify getting these yet
Grade A refurbs (i.e. open box returns) are £189 from Sony centre. Plus you can add a 5 year guarantee. I paid £207 including the guarantee. They don't have any in stock but you can call and pre-order.

They really aren't £189..

The old models have been £179 , this version have been over £200

Some people want headphones now, not in 6 months after someone else has had their grubby hands on them

Were they the new version 2s? I don't have a Sony centre near me so do you phone and ask for a pair to be delivered? I need a new pair of NC headphones and these would be perfect.

And the newer revision? If so, a bargain.

It's down to personal choice, but the Sony gives better sound and better Noise cancelling, although i think the general consensus is that the Bose are a bit more comfortable for long journeys.

With Android 8 inbound and LDAC, you will want the Sony as Bose don't support it

This video is a great comparison, view with headphones for the best experience as microphones are used to highlight how well the Noise cancelling works.

Yes the version 2s. The deal was posted on HUKD. They were out of stock so I went through the online chat and they gave me a number to call which I believe was the Carlisle store (01228542824). They don't have any in stock but get new deliveries every Friday. I pre-ordered and paid and they agreed to post when they get some in, likely this Friday

They're £189 with a 1 year warranty, £207 to upgrade to 5 years.

Was told I would receive mine this sat, or next at the latest. Grade A is a return and I was told they would be like new but perhaps a damaged box.... we will see. Just passing on my experience. Voted this deal hot cus it's a decent reduction on RRP for some bloody good headphones.

You can have them with a 1 year warranty for under £200 for me I would rather have peace of mind

When added to the basket, it says can't deliver to the UK mainland? 😦 Shame...

Make sure you select the ones sold by Amazon, there's a marketplace seller who's now undercut Amazon's price so they come up as the default

Yeah that's what I chose as I generally don't trust market sellers. Tried several times but unsuccessful, as they 'won't ship to the UK', and ask me to delete the item in the basket. Wonder why as I've bought other stuff from Amazon Europe before.

Bizarre indeed! Even when I click on the link provided here, it will highlight in red won't ship to your address in the UK I've had no problem with Amazon so far, and have been watching this pair for ages on amazon UK. Out of curiosity, how much did they charge you for shipping over here?

I think they're low on stock, that's why. Just found out that if you choose the gold colour, it will send to the UK no problem, same price. But I prefer black, shame

In my personal experience, qc35 is better.
Any deals on the Bose QC35 at the moment? As I heard there is an issue with the Sony band cracking easily

I got a grade A pair from Sony Centre online for £189 just before Christmas. Definitely the MK2. Sent them back though because not only did they sound no better than my 100ABNs (ANC or general sound quality) but I found the touch controls incredibly fiddly, didn't like the way they folded and fit in the case and they weren't as comfortable. Basically, for me they are no way worth the price premium over the step-down model.

Depends on the quality of the source maybe, they do use the same drivers but the 1000s sounded more neutral to me, the ABN's seem to add some fake bass, the 1000 range also look better being thinner and they have better battery life. The Noise Cancelling is far superior than the ABN's though. - not sure what environments you tested them with?

And as far as i remember, the ABN's build quality isn't great, they creak and crack at the joints when you move etc..

All in all i understand why some don't see the need to pay the extra, but they are much more refined and when buying refurbs the difference in price is not as great as when you buy new. In some places the 1000x are cheaper then the ABN's

Personally, I would choose the 1000x or 1000xm2 over the ABN's anyday, but it's horses for courses.

I tested the two side by side. Went back and forth, playing Jamie XX for about 45 minutes. Sound quality wise, they were different but I couldn't really pick a winner. I'm no expert but the Sony's sounded more full/deeper, still clear, while the Bose were more open, slightly more separation. Noise cancelling in a busy Curry's store was pretty indistinguishable between the two. However I actually found the Sony's more comfortable and the build quality was noticeably better, they just feel a lot more sturdy. So I chose the Sony's. I originally went into my search intending to buy the Bose.
