Best BT headphones you can get with NC, there's so much demand that price doesn't come below £200, even 2 years after release

Worth waiting 3 months for the xm4's?

Is there a link to this price or evidence? If so those of us who have purchased from John Lewis recently can price match and John Lewis might go cheeper due to their price match garuntee

I will wait, I need normal microphone for taking calls, and on those it is really bad. Noise cancelling is top notch though. Opposite with bose 700s and their design is a bit different not for my liking.

Could be a bit more, rumours on the net hint at middle of 2020, will be more expensive definitely and maybe then price of xm3 can fall - that didn't happen with xm2 though, Sony removed most stock from market to avoid that happening

Yes. I have the xm2 and love them. Have heard these are better. If I’m honest I haven’t tried them as I won’t be upgrading.
Do you have to be flying to get these?
I have them already, they do make my ears really hot though if I wear them a while

I don't think John Lewis would price match on this occasion, but let us know if they do.
This price is in store, the website will probably still show full price, but not sure

John Lewis will only match a price, not beat it. Dizons Travel does not qualify.

I would wait however long for the xm4's. The call quality on the 3's is really bad compared to the bose 700 but these sony headphones are the best on the market.
Amazing sound quality and robust build, but the mic for calls is useless. Get if you’re intending to listen rather than talk...

Exactly the reason I've not bought the XM3s. I use my MDR-10BTs for calls all day, every day and they're excellent for that, with phenomenal battery-life, but they're old and cheap with no premium features. Once the XM4s are out I'll give them a whirl and see whether calls are any better.

No preference of Sony or Bose .I bought the qc35ii as in my opinion they pipped the sony on build quality and comfort and call quality is fine .Just strange you say the Sony are best on market yet slated the call quality,

Audio is very personal choice. I prefer the Bose QC 35ii. My dislike is the Sony's have an over emphised bass, the QC35's have a more natural frequency response at the low end. I had already picked up on this when testing them but the detailed reviews from RTings.com confirmed what my ears were telling me. However many people prefer the Sony's, I am not knocking them and they are very popular but they are not for me.

Depends on your budget, isn't the RRP for these close to 300? XM4's will likely be he same whenever they come out

They were £330, and took some time to get below £300.

I'm another convert - I had the WH-H900s, but then Santa brought me these. They are a real step up - lighter, more stable connection and dramatically improved noise cancelling - especially with voices. I haven't had chance to try on them on a plane yet, only in an open office environment.
I got a pair of these at Christmas... anyone else feel a bit weird with the noise cancelling active? Like nausea, it's hard to explain but I couldn't keep them on for longer than 30 minutes... My ears felt like they needed to pop but there was no way of relieving... Anyone else had the same or is it just me?

Some people do feel a pressure with noise cancelling. Personally doesn’t bother me but maybe it’s something you get used to

They're also very muddy in the mids, something that surprised me quite a bit, especially since everyone rated them so highly. Had to use an equalizer to sort that out.

Yeah I couldn't handle it, the feature itself is amazing, better than any others I tried. Had to return them.

Absolute cracking headphones

These headphones aren't really designed for calls it's a tacked on feature, they're mainly for noise cancelling with pretty decent sound.

You can get better quality sounding headphones without NC, likewise you can find headphones with better call quality than either the Bose or Sony. But, as i said... the main purpose of these are for Noise cancelling.

The Sony sound better than the Bose, and have superior NC

The Bose frequency response whilst not public is clearly less than the Sony and you lose detail in the high and low range.

This is both my opinion and the general consensus amongst industry experts.

Also....maybe i'm old school, but i take my headphones off when making calls out of respect for people around me not wanting to hear some imbecile shouting and not realising how annoying they're being. Don't be that guy

i hope the XM4s remove the call options completely tbh, it's a different market.

These are incredible headphones. Even the feature of allowing the headphones to let some of the outside sound in so you can hear what's going on around you if you want is really helpful.

The gesture controls are excellent and the voice calling is pretty good (despite hearing lots of people complain - no one's ever had problems hearing me)

Anybody considered the WH-XB900N nearly the same specs as the XM3

Yeah I got them at new year and they've been great
I bought the Bose QC35 IIs but the NC gave me horrible 'cabin pressure like' nausea.

Swapped to the Sony's and the NC is far better, and also comfier with faster charge time. But unfortunately the touch controls are horrific and the mic is equally useless on both.
