Woah... I was aware these were good for blocking out the engines of a commercial airliner but I didn't know they were *that* good.
I’ve just bought a pair of refurbed ones from Amazon for £239, but they arrived with a damaged jack lead. Tried to get a replacement and they sent out the wrong jack lead for £10 more I might just return them and buy these instead.
if you're prepared to be patient, and check very regularly you can get refurbished WH1000XM2's direct from Sony for £179. Bought a pair myself recently. They are listed very infrequently, and go in seconds. On arrival I certainly could not tell them from new

Got my qc35ii for £211 when the promotion was on
Managed to get some QCii for £210 on ebay this week, looked very closely into these and apparently it's a tighter fit and not as comfy, but the noise cancelling and sound is bit better. Great deal, heat added.

I had the QC35ii the the XM2 next to each other in Currys, going back and forth while I made my mind up. The Bose are so so light, you barely know you’re even wearing them. They’re also incredibly flexible so they’ll take some damage. The Sony however, feel like they’re actually there and aren’t uncomfortable at all.
Good deal but NC is too strong for me from this HP, I have a feeling in my ears like during a scuba diving...

I did try both on briefly at an airport curry's, definitely understand what you mean. If I couldn't have got the Bose for so cheap, definitely would've gone for the Sonys.

Bose providing any tech details eg frequency, dynamic etc?
I spent a long time deciding between these and the QC35s and for me there wasn’t much in it in terms of sound quality. The Bose for me have just about the right amount of bass (not too much, and what’s there is nice and ‘tight’) and have a way of smoothing everything out so it sounds great. In the end I went for the QC35s for several reasons - Bose reputation for customer service, the sheer comfort of the Bose and the fact that the ear pads could be replaced for £25 where as on these you have to send them to Sony and that costs about £100 - not that in 18 months I’ve seen any sign of the Bose ear pads needing replacement. The battery life on the Bose easily equals if not beats the quoted 20 hours in wireless use (or 40 hours wired).

Make no mistake these are great headphones though and some will prefer them, they are just about the equal to the Bose QC35- it was a close call for me, but the factors above won out. If you’ve an android phone that supports the Apt-X bluetooth codec these may be a better option as they support that where as the Bose only offer more ‘standard’ Bluetooth quality from Android devices (should still be good though). Both the Bose QC35 and these support the AAC Bluetooth codec that Apple use.

These are my current headphones and they're amazing! I paid about £250 for these a few months ago but honestly, i wouldn't regret paying £330 for them! They are perfect! I use them when on the train to work and it blocks out all the noise and makes for a more relaxing journey. They even stop ear pressure build up when going threw tunnels which is something i personally suffer with more than most people. Only downside i can think of is that i keep having to disconnect them from my phone when using them with another device like my iPad or Apple TV.
Best NC headphones money can buy. i.e. better than Bose.

Bose are more comfortable though.

I use them with my Apple TV when i don't want to disturb my girlfriend and the audio quality is superb with 4K movies Also they hardly produce any sound leakage.

I use mine for the train and they block out all the noise! They're also really good if you get blocked ears when going threw tunnels. When i get near my stop, as soon as i take my headphones off i'm surprised by how loud the train is! lol
How's the bass on these? I like good sound quality (hence why i'm not a Beats guy) but I also like deep bass.
If you have a premium Android phone, it may well be LDAC compliant. LDAC has almost twice the transfer bandwidth of APTxHD. The 1000XM2 are vanilla Bluetooth, APTx, APTx,HD and LDAC compliant.
By the looks of the comments, I made a good choice but equally so the QC35ii are a fine option too.
John Lewis have now price matched with the 2 year warranty - I just purchased them there

I did search Sony WH and nothing came up, but on looking again, when searching wireless headphones your deal does appear.

I wouldn’t have posted if I had seen it and wished I found it as would have made me looking for headphones easier
Expired as price change to £299
