So looks like Costco in-store only deal up til 14th July where you can get these headphones for 239.98 (see picture)

Comes with excellent guarantee/return policy with Costco and obviously requires Costco membership so not available to all.

Not sure if Prime day will offer it cheaper as it ends one day before.

Roll on xm4s
Richer sounds had the best price on these
Fantastic deal on the best headphones around.
If you want expensive wireless headphones, only the Sony ones support the LDAC Bluetooth codec, some others have AptX HD which is nearly as good if you're just listening to MP3s/spotify etc, but without LDAC or AptX HD your posh new headphones will be wasted on awful Bluetooth quality audio.

Oh and only Android supports LDAC/AptX HD. iPhone falls back to compressed AAC or standard Bluetooth.

These headphone are fantastic. My husband is not at all happy flying, and these have made such a difference to him. The noise cancelling and pressure equalising is top notch, without inhibiting sound quality. I went for the cheaper WH-CH700N model and the difference is insane. I wish I’d plumped for the premium ones.
Out of curiosity How do these compare to Bose ?

which bluetooth dongle would you recommend for desktop pc users that would support LDAC/AptX HD?
you should get a bluetooth 5 dongle to get AptX Adaptive. But wait for the XM4's which should be bluetooth 5 like the Bose 700's
Waiting for prime day

I found the Bose to be slightly better for NC, but the sound is far superior on the Sony. Bose were slightly better for comfort over longer periods of time. I had the Bose for a year and the Sony for around 8 months and wouldn’t go back to the Bose because the XM3 just sound so much better. Use them everyday on the underground and couldn’t go back to not having ANC now.
Cheers for that ! Will give them a listen

There's not many about, Windows doesn't support the codecs. You might be able to get AptX or possibly HD working now on Windows 10, not sure.

Alternative is to use an external DAC with LDAC, like this. Appears as a USB soundcard to your PC so does the converting / LDAC transmission itself. Expensive though. Surprised Sony haven't realised LDAC support for PC themselves really.

Think you have banana stuck in your ears.

Had both for a couple of weeks and Sony had far far far better NC, like I wouldn't even compare them.

Same for sound quality... Bose was miles behind .

The only thing Bose did better was multiple devices thing but that's not really a winning point for me.

Anyway, now it's on to the next one, xm4 just around the corner.
Compaired to the Bose I find these uncomfortable and sweaty for a long haul flight. Any longer than two hours you want to take them off for a rest. The Bose on the other hand I can wear all day. I always borrow my wife’s Bose now when I fly on business. Sound quality and noise cancelling you can’t tell the difference unless you swap back and forth. It’s so subtle it makes more difference where you sit on the plane for noise.

Thanks for the reply. I had a quick look online last night and can see that windows 10 does support it but it appears that you can't tell when its enabled well not easily. There is a way to check it.
However after saying that, I also read a review on wireless headphones (just a general review not singling out sony or anyone) and the guy was saying that basically its a bad experience overall as they tend to lose the connection randomly so you have to pair or re-open apps to fix it. He said as a pc user your better off with a wired analogue headset lol

Im now stuck asking myself do I go for wireless or stick with wired hmmm

As a PC user you'd quickly notice the 0.5-1 second of Bluetooth delay makes them unsuitable for watching video, and probably for gaming too. I love them for listening to music from my PC, but be aware you're better off with wired for loads of scenarios.

Sony probably have loads of decent wired headsets and some are probably similar but don't think there's a specific wired version of this.

The XM3s do come with a cable though to use in wired mode

if they can be wired then I could just go with these then. I will need to check how long it is as I plan on using it for tv shows/movies mainly as well as music.
Thanks for your help mate
I’ve got some silver ones for sale that I purchased from the Sony Centre refurbished pages a week or so ago. Not keen on colour so selling them for £185 if anyone is interested.
