My personal notes are that these headphones are awesome for the price. Used them this weekend on a plane and they shut a lot of noise out before you even turn music on.

I used them with my little A series walkman and had volume at 18 out of 30 and couldn't hear anything else on the plane, so they get my vote.

Also they have the Y-type cord which means both headphones are equal length, not the ones where you have to put one round the back of the neck which can be very annoying!

heres the info from play.com

# 9mm XB driver unit fills your ears with deep bass, bringing you closer to the club music you love in optimum Sony sound quality
# Angled-structure in-ear silicone buds for total wearing comfort
# Neodymium magnet delivers powerful clear mid-range sounds, perfectly paired with the deep thumping bass line
# Tightly sealed acoustic design for great sound isolation and rich bass sound, to stop any of your music leaking out
# Oxygen Free Copper voice coil for powerful handling capacity (1000mW)
# Durable and lightweight 1.2m flat cord, Y-type, for tangle-free listening
# 103dB/mW sensitivity for a strong sound output
# Wide frequency response range, 5-23,000Hz, reproducing a smooth low bass line right through to the highest pitch treble
# Gold-plated L-shaped stereo mini plug
# Hybrid silicon earbuds in S/M/L sizes for a perfect in-ear fit

Also same price at amazon thanks to the heads up from snakebite

good spot, I know some people prefer amazon over play but you should be able to get quidco from play also, but each to their own!

Ordered a set of these to see what they are like.

Cheers,

iecuk

Thanks OP, ordered.

Haven't used XB earphones but I've got XB headphones and they're great. Might treat myself to a pair of these.

Ordered... this site is costing me money big time :-)

Wow, some good review's there!

Might grab a set.

they been this price for ages i bought these back in october for 14.99 they aint that good i was expecting HUGE base but there jus kinda bassy they get uncomfortable after a while as well

^^^

ditto

Bought a while ago at this price and not too impressed.

i have an a-series too and find anything but px100s are too quiet. anyone know how to get more volume out of the a? euro limiter is off and i've fiddled with the test mode to no avail

Not to rain on this parade,l too bought these instead of Sennheiser CX300 l usually buy ,not very good.

I have these - they are very very good indeed.

LOL - Seems there is a mixed bag here! One post saying these are not good, then below it saying these are great! Who to belive? I've been stung before with ear buds I have a pair of Shure's rubbish in my view, very tinny (fitted correctly) and make my ear ache after about 1 hour so looking to replace them on the cheap just don't know what to do.

anywhere near a patch on EX85?

decided to have a gamble on these as more people seem to be saying they're good.

I also have some shures which i don't like at all. Have always gone for the creative ep630 before, hope these are as good.

awesome earphones, would defo recommend

I have a pair of these , and used with an iPod classic the sound is great. Very full bass and lovely crisp treble and very effective at blocking out external sounds.

*BUT* as these are a design that effectively seals off your ear they do suffer with noise travelling through the cable. If you are using them sat still on a train - no problem. If you are using them while exercising , as the cable bangs around and rubs on your clothes you will get this sound right in your ears.

I bought some of these instead - play.com/Ele…tml

They have a dampener between the ear buds and the rest of the headphones so you don't get noise transferrence.

these come with three different sized buds so you can chop and change to your personal preference

Had these before and they're not a patch on the Sennheiser CX 300s

EX85 were slighly more expensive headphones these I would say compare fairly well for the price.

Overall benefits I found with these against EX85's which I used to use were the Y type cord
and overall how much sound these headphones shut out when in use, but I didnt find too much of a difference using these headphones, its not like your going from Sony headphones to the lame ones Apple provide with the Ipod

You know, I had the same opinion of my Shure's, so I sold them and was tempted by these ]bad boys but decided to stick with the pretty awesome pair of buds I got with my Sony A818.

anyone wanting to buy these i wouldnt if i was u i would get the cx300s there on the same site for bout £2 less and they hav a 2 year guarantee

Hmmm... picked up my EX85's in NY for $40 at a rate of about 1.7:1, so not too much difference in price but am always in the market for new cans as I use them for a good 3 hours every day, have found some EX90's today for the same price as these so will see how they fair and if they be legit and good I will post here

Cheers

For further clarity then I don't consider them a good deal.:?

So can anyone say how these compare to the Klipsch X1 earphones?? The Klipsch are back on for £20 quid again.

Bought these and Senheisser CX300's and ended up selling the the CX300's (4 pairs of!) - no where near as good - IMO in terms of noise cancellation and bass....

cannot get these to sit in both ears long enough, dont kow if its symmetric cable why or the fit on any of hte buds, seems my left ear will stay in longer but right just drops out within a minute. great to listen to sitting down still, but soon as you try to walk you regret it.
dont reccomend it, wasted 16 quid when i could have got reliable sennheisers for a quid more!
