That stand is hella ugly! At this pricepoint, worth considering the 55” OLED too.
FYI this will be stuck on Oreo ... QQ

I think the majority of people will wall mount
Voted hot. But at this price , I would expect 85 inch or at least 75 inch led TV.

I agree, it's a shame because I have passed on a number of TVs I have really wanted because of the android os

Just use external tvbox like Apple TV, Nvidia shield or Xbox and don't use built in smart apps . Better quality .
I have this TV and the os isn't as bad as people say. I have no issues watching Netflix prime

Then that means buying a external box after spending all that money on a TV, what's the point. If that's the case I might aswell just buy a cheap tv. If I am spending all that money on a TV I should not have to add anything to it for it to be safe from getting hacked in about 3 years time when the new android os comes out and the updates stop. I would rather just buy a TV that is not android and then I don't have to worry about it. Anyway it's all academic now because I went and got a Samsung lol
The annoying thing is that to get a higher spec TV you have to have all the added smart features that you know will be obsolete very quickly, leaving you with a dumb high performing TV. I recently got an Android Sony TV fully expecting the smart features to be pants and useless in a year or two... when that happens then I'll accept I need a smart stick plugged in.

Cheap tv’s have cheap nasty panels.
Any reason, other than the obvious extra £200, to not go for the Samsung Q70R using the same code ?

If them be in same price that could be worth to consider between them two. For 200 less is no doubt for me. Saved money you could spend for new soundbar with dolby atmos. Sony Htx8500 For example

I was going to buy that but ended up with a bravia. The colours fade on the Samsung if you look at it from an angle. Go into curry's and you will see that the purple they show on the screens actually fades to white. It's weird. The bravia stays the same colour.

I thought the exact same thing but then I went to Curry's to check the TVs out. This Bravia is far better than the Q6, Q7 and Q8, in terms of picture quality. Much brighter, clearer, crisper and the viewing angles were great compared to the Q's. FALD makes a massive difference and sets it apart from other LEDs (bar OLED).
Problem I have is that this is for my elderly parents, so they need an OS that is easy to use (Samsung by all accounts is much better) and fairly decent sound (again, Samsung meant to be a bit better - but get that I could have a sound bar with the savings)

Would the criteria above change/sway anyone over to the Samsung ?

Does this not still suffer from really dim DV?

Does this not still suffer from really dim DV?

I've never noticed it on my xf9005. Most DV content comes out a bit 'dimmer' on all TVs, mind (only using LG C7, B8 and XF9005 as my sample here, though). But the implementation of it with the correct settings doesn't look too dissimilar to my LG C7 OLED.
