6. If you have an existing account for a subscription service offered by a particular Partner, you may not be eligible to select this Partner for your Extra. In these circumstances, you will be able to select one of the other available Extras. Unless otherwise communicated to you, redeeming an Extra through O2 will not automatically cancel or suspend any subscription service offered directly by a particular Partner or through another third party and it is your responsibility to manage such direct or third party subscriptions.
Wouldn't mind owning this phone as an upgrade to the Xperia xz2 I'm currently using . One thing that is putting me off is that since my phone updated to android 10 it has been very glitchy since. Fingerprint scanner doesn't work as well as before, the screen flashes sometimes when browsing chrome and freezes occasionally.Great handset before hand.

Try a soft reset, delete your fingerprint and add it again or if these not help hard reset (back up your phone because you loose everything)

no I mean you can sign up for an o2 contract which comes with the benefit of disney plus and then cancel the contract keeping the benefit? That doesn't seem right

great deal too! I'm delighted £356 + £18 (one month airtime) for a phone £849.99 clove.co.uk/pro…835 whether its worth that to some or not the resale on eBay is £550-£650 (I plan to keep mine ), also as I understand it O2 stopped locking there phones last year so should be unlocked.

I've gone for this. If you are being put off by the mainstream reviews, check some on YT or Reddit.

Also, be very cautious with O2 when cancelling the contract. I've gone for this kind of deal twice before, and both times was a bit of a mission to cancel. They confirmed that the contract was cancelled, but after the standing order was cancelled they tried to take the remaining contract cost for total length, and ended up with negative credit mark. Had to call them constantly to resolve and get them to remove the mark.

Is this a better phone than the Huawei mate 20 pro.
I'm with O2 so thinking if I upgrade could I pay off the phone and then go sim only again.

I think so, it's all about the screen for me

Very good price, I upgraded from an LG v30.
I'd go for that, anyone else? Any issues/no issues with canceling the contract and keeping the phone?

My point is the price difference between advertised new price and second hand one.. That is a big drop.

dont think the deal will last too long. should have been nearer his price on launch, imo.
Still, can anyone please confirm that it's possible to cancel the contract and keep the phone?

I would argue not. Battery life isn’t bad but the poor fingerprint scanner (and lack of any face unlock option) on the Xperia is a massive downside IMHO, much as the hardware as a whole is pretty nice. Much as with the Mate 20 you can’t install the Google Pixel camera on this, and it also doesn’t have Qi charging.

I tried this repeatedly having had the same experience. It’s a bit weird as it’s as if the hardware isn’t being activated judging by the error message you get. It says something like ‘fingerprint cannot be used at this time’. I ended up using smart unlock etc to try and get around it but it’s a bit annoying to say the least.

Can you pay the device plan by PayPal?
Yes I did as credit card wouldn't go through but did via PayPal. Love the phone paid off in full and STAC the old number to 3. All disconnected and cancelled by the looks of it. The STAC text states within my 14 day call off period so will need to return phone unless I pay £0.00 in which case I can keep it.

No WiFi calling as on EE and will need to flash that firmware or the generic firmware to get it to work. Anyone done that?

This is a good deal but please bare in mind that the second hand value of your Xperia will be less than a Samsung. Actually my wife's s9 is around the same value as the Xperia on the sell my mobile sites.

I was thinking of buying this but I think I will hold out until the Sony Xperia 1ii releases, I can only see the Xperia 1 and 5 further dropping in prices further .

But I have had the pleasure to own the Xperia 1 for roughly 2 months and that too I fully tested it out in Turkey back in February for 5 weeks full, just before the lock down happened.

One word to summarise this phone overall, Amazing phone and the camera is great. It had its niggles with 4k and ois but overall an excellent phone.

Don’t think it will drop to this in the shops. I see giffgaff are clearing out this model but it’s £599. There doesn’t seem to be the massive discounts there once was probably due to Covid 19.
this deal is still going, no?
