I've had 3 xperia phones so far (currently using the xperia 1 iii) I would not recommend this phone, especially at this price point. There's way too many reasons to list, for that price you might as well go for Samsung or Apple. This phone will be half price or less within 3-6 months

Great phone, but best to wait and grab it at a bargain price.

Loads of people send them back because they are not comfortable using manual camera settings, which is the only way to get amazing results from this phone.

The auto camera results have improved but aren't close to every other point and shoot phone.

Waiting for Giffgaff to list them for £349

Definitely. I got the Xperia 1iii when it came out for £1200 on the split type contract (and I still owe 400 on it now), you can buy them now for less than what I'm left to pay!
Value drops way too fast, same with Samsung and other androids. (edited)

The great thing about Sony's when I've tested them is they have Dolby Atmos built in for content from tidal, the pixel 7 pro I currently own does not utilise this.

They don't however play very well with Plex direct play content in 4k and it needs to be transcoded. The Samsung notes/ultras play all 4k content direct play without transcoding even when output is set to 1440p.

I do want to pick one of these up though and this is a great deal switchy based on current prices. Hopefully there will be a great SIM free deal soon. (edited)

The colour reproduction on Sony phones is accurate.

The Pixels are great for Instigram over saturated images, but they always look fake.

Nice deal one of the phones that interest me and the headphones are decent too but I'm still holding out for the next pixel iteration I think gone are the days where I want to fork out this sort of money on a phone.

I do like the Sony phones but I can't get on with it because of the camera. You have to do alot of manual configurations to get a great pic but if that's what you are in to then phone is top notch. I know post processing is subjective but this is the worst in my eyes compared to the pixels, iPhones and Samsung's of the world. It's especially surprising since Sony cameras are used on those phones too (edited)

I had an Xperia 1 mkii and then a Pixel 6. I really miss the Xperia. When I look back at the photos I took on the Xperia they look so much better. Most mobile phone photos look oversaturated and over sharpened to be but the Sony ones look much more like shots from a proper camera. I am into photography however, and I have thousands of pounds of Sony camera kit already, so I think I am more the target market for this phone.

Debating selling my Pro-i for this but jury is out on if the camera is any better than it, plus the pro-i has double the storage.

This new one is meant to have much better thermal management though so that's a big plus.

I think I'd switch for the gen 2 alone

This upfront bs needs removing… it’s basically £46 a  month

It may work out as that but you still have to pay upfront
