Is this better than the Moto G? Want to buy one for my mother so she can Skype.

I just posted this one, didn't realise it was already posted.

Note that I believe this deal is only for 24 hours.

Cracking little phone

No moto g slaughters this phone even my wife's samsung s2 is better lol, still not bad for 80 but I'd rather have the moto g

Awwww no, just bought a moto e for a pressie from Argos....pity they don't take them back

Reviews say seem to have issues with lack of storage or would of been tempted.

Sony experia E1 is £49 PAYG at tesco mobile. Not sure what difference is between E1 & E3 apart from £30 :-)

Have one of these right now.. Previously had a moto G. Haven't noticed any difference in performance.. Battery life if better on the E3. Moto G wins on screen quality and internal storage. Must have a decent Micro SD in the Sony. The Sony has a better look and feel and is very well built.

Is it good value at about £40 less than the moto G 4g equivalent? Definitely.

depends if you want 4g or not, if it is just for skype and you aren't bothered about skype the moto e might be worth looking at

No need for 4G. She will use wi-fi mainly. I'll have a look at the Moto E. Thanks

Ordered one for my 10 year old son. Was tempted by the Moto G but wanted something under £100 ideally. Hope it's Ok!

Another of the 4gb wastes of space (unless you don't install apps, don't bother)

Better than Moto E? Or Nokia 535? For my 50 yr old mother.

Wouldn't say its a waste of space lol but I do agree, thought manufacturers would have learnt ages ago that having 4GB internal memory just causes problems and unnecessary hassle.

Lumia 535 arguably easier to get on with. Very simple OS compared to android. My 56 year old sister loves her Lumia.

got this on a black Friday deal 69.99 going back to my s3 mini. good job cex giving 70 or I'd be upset

The only downside for me is that its the single sim version not the dual sim.
I am thinking to use it as second phone. The price is very good.

Quite a lot

What I'd really like to know is how good the camera is?

Camera is reasonable. Plenty of scene modes and options, not the fastest shutter speed, but as good as the motoG.. Though that's not saying much

What's the internal memory on this phone?

Seriously? This was another tenner cheaper still a few days ago? Well, that settles it, not buying it now! I'd always be annoyed that I mis-timed it and (technically) overpaid.

I disagree, the s2 only wins on camera, the E3 has a newer version of android, faster cpu, gpu, similar resolution, bigger screen and 4g. Its basically a 1st gen moto g, but with a worse screen and an SD card slot and 4g. And to boot its waterproof!

Before anyone dunks their phone in the bath, this phone isn't water or dust proof. Only the Z models and the M2 Aqua are. Still a great phone and got one a few minutes before the price shot up!

Those that got the deal - did you get a delivery date for the phone? It was in stock when I purchased it (quite early on) and I have:

"Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date."

When I chatted to Amazon just now they couldn't give me any extra detail so just curious to know if anyone has the same status.

Bought early, no rush delivery (go to love all those £1 Kindle etc. vouchers!), dispatched today.

Mine was strangely dispatched sameday and delivered nextday by DPD although I bought it on super saver, no prime trial. The tracking code & link was broken in the dispatch email so I couldn't really make use of the 1hr slots they give.

So far I think it's a great deal although the phone has an unpleasant strong plastic smell associated with very cheaply made items that I'm not sure I can live with. I don't know if mine has come out of a bad batch or they're all like this.

Update: The smell has completely gone now. The only snag is the limited choice of quality cases and in car mounts as it's a budget phone.
