Arguably the best (only?) mobile choice for those who don't want one of the phablets that the current market has become, but still want good performance and features e.g water resistance.

Price includes free del (you can choose the day) or click & collect instore.

Currently in stock in blue, black and pink.
Same price at Currys, Amazon and Clove, but not all colours available.

I'm guessing that stocks of this phone are going to dry up through big retailers soon, because new production will be for the XZ2 Compact although many people (myself included) prefer the older XZ1c due to it still having some better features (a headphone socket and smaller size spring to mind).

Edit: Forgot to mention £10 TCB too

Edit 2: Can even get it for £249 if you don't mind the hassle of buying it under a Vodafone 1-month contract then cancelling the contract within 14 days (before paying the first month).

To be fair the introduction of 18:9 screens is making compacts a non starter, while there arent 100% one handed use like the compact is, there are far more manageable with a larger screen estate, and no longer are the 5.5"+screens the pocket busters they once were
There's the 2017 Galaxy A3, which is still available too, but that's basically it for phones under 5" at the moment unless you count the Jelly.

Been thinking I might grab this when it drops under £300 again; thanks.

Those 18:9 screens are horrible, in my opinion. If somebody made a 3:2 screen Android phone, like the early smart phones, I'd snap it up in an instant,

Your entitled to your opinion mate, and I can respect that.

The whole smartphone arena is a minefield for anyone looking for specifics, If you do not want to pay flagship money then it usually involves compromise..

And for people specifically looking for a smaller handset I know only to well how difficult that can be.

It did go to this price before for a short time, but that deal should have been expired as it went up to £330 or £380 for the past several weeks. I've been following it regularly so I could jump on it in case it went down again, but you can see the Amazon history on camelcamel if you want.
Been tempted by this for a couple of days. Thinking of flogging by iPhone X on the next eBay £1 fee weekend and ‘downgrading’ to this whilst significantly upgrading my bank balance. The only thing holding me back is camera worries - I briefly had the full size xz1, and the over-processing of images was pretty horrible.

Have to say, much prefer the design of this to its successor which is a pretty anonymous looking device.

No examples, I was on about more how 18:9 is narrower and more manageable than 16:9 phone, well as the saying goes on here... IMO
Great phone I have the xz1 full size, very happy with its performance, and vivid bright lcd screen, the compact is definitely the best compact phone out there for those who want a small phone

I found the camera very capable, better pictures then my mates iPhone 8, produces very natural and realistic image
I have the xz, does this phone suffer from the same stability problems. I only recall one less stable phone than the xz and that was the withdrawn satio . The xz camera isn't that good suffering focus problems and I've had a few of the 20mp ones Z1 compact z3 compact. Unfortunately I've gone to the Lumia 950 for low light and it's excellent but the os is dead. Can someone tell me the camera performance compared to Samsung as Sony always fall short.

Agreed on the XZ2 Compact - not a fan of the more rounded design at all (plus I don't like that it doesn't have a built-in headphone jack, nor the elongated screen form factor nor the fingerprint sensor being on the back instead of the side). Also, the cheapest I've seen the XZ2 Compact has been the Amazon Prime Day deal at £399. No thanks, even at the same price I'd take the XZ1.

Was hoping to pay a little less than this but as the deal poster says, supply will probably start drying up pretty shortly and I don't want to miss out on something that'll likely last me 3 years like my Z5 Compact has done. To be honest, the Z5 Compact is still going extremely strongly but I know that it'll likely need replacing in a year (no more OS updates, apps getting more demanding, starting to pick up visible wear and tear marks) so might as well go for what is basically an improved version and yet relatively current (and supported, hopefully).

Indeed, but as the alternatives can be counted on one hand I thought it worth a mention. 1/2 the price too so not a comparison with the OP's Sony.

No problem, happy to help.
I think the Sony Z3 and Z5 Compacts were the best Android phones about, great design, great performance (for their time) and some great special features (brilliant FM radio, Noise Cancelling, forward facing stereo speakers, etc)
Can pick up a second hand Z5 compact for about £100 in many places, only thing is the battery will be a bit useless by now.

I would be interested in the Xz1 compact, but that's still far to expensive for me, personally. Still heat added.

Not a popular point on an Android deal, but an iPhone SE is compact and same power as iPhone 6S.

I think the SE is a good phone but it just feels tired because it's using the same design as a 6-year old handset even if the hardware is only 3-years old. Also 4" is pretty small today. The Sony Compacts have pretty much been the benchmark for a high-performance compact handset and the XZ1 Compact is probably the best. The XZ2 is great but it also has compromises that it just shouldn't have.

Were you able to cancel the Voda SIM successfully and get the deal at £199? If yes, can you mention the procedure pls?

Ordered on Saturday. Delivered Sunday. JUst need to cancel the voda sim now.

Very impressed with the phone, A steal at £199
I can confirm that this is a superb device - got one and replaced my Z5 Compact with it last week.

It looks almost identical but is even slicker in operation, has a nicer looking screen and seems to have a better quality sound output through the headphone jack. Plus there are some nice tweaks in Android 8 with the phone hopefully being supported with Android 9 when it comes out.

The only downers are the loss of the FM Tuner and the placement of the camera with respect to the flash (can't use heart rate apps).

iirc, the z5c was fitted with the SD810 SoC and it performed not too good due to thermal issues. LCD indeed is quite good on this phone. I went through the reviews on youtube, and even the front facing spkrs seemed to be very improved.
It comes with Android 8 oob if I am not mistaken, and it is guaranteed 2 official updates.
